Anybody think he could be the ideal player to help plug our defence?

I see he's barely played during his three years at Swansea and spent half a season out on loan at Birmingham. Has he been injured recently or just down the pecking order?

He started off a bit shaky in his loan spell with us but had started to put in some consistently solid performances before Arsenal recalled him, and he'll be more experienced now having played in the Premier League, Championship and SPL since then.

Thoughts?

Think it's a good shout, though money would likely prove an immovable problem.

He's been playing for Swansea recently, but looking woefully inept at that level. Can imagine him being cleared out when they get their new manager in place.

Reckon he's solid championship standard, so would be great for us.

Seems Birmingham were annoyed that he got recalled last year as he was doing well for them.

Certainly not Premier League standard BUT he is better than having defenders that are getting ripped a new one by the likes of Gillingham.

I've never actually seen anything in him at all. I think he fucked us off realising his own limitation when we were in the championship and went to Scotland for a bit as the writing was on the wall for us that season and he didn't want to be associated with it.

He's got himself in to a position where he's a millionaire without actually being very good for anyone. An outlandish suggestion as it would serve him no benefit and we couldn't afford him anyway.

Worth a punt ?
Going back to Swansea after Leeds loan so maybe available plenty of championship experience and knows bdtbl well

He'd probably fit the profile for what I think we need, has he grown a pair of bollocks since he last played for us though?

From memory, technically decent, had height, pace and athleticism, but he was a bit of a fanny when it came to getting stuck in.

Replacing Jamie Ward, Britton & Barltey with Marcus Bent, Doyle & Collins was a personal favourite JTW

I don't have much time for either Britton or Bartley but I do understand why Britton left, he realised the move had gone wrong and Swansea were flying. He blatantly came to us for more money. I wouldn't take Bartley back. Just remember him been nesh and than left for Rangers and you just got the impression he didn't give a toss about his spell with us, but maybe I'm wrong.

A fanny that's grown a pair of bollocks ... really?

God, no. Monk must be a belter of a manager to get Leeds close to the Play Offs with that pitiful excuse for a central defender in the team consistently!

Obviously it's not possible that he's developed a bit between the age of 19-26, in the 6/7 years since we had him.

And he wasn't bad for us either, especially considering his age, he was just part of a disjointed defence full of loanees.

He'd be a great signing for us now but there'd be plenty ahead of us in the queue, including Leeds no doubt, and possibly PL clubs.

Britton was class. But, as the cliche goes, the only aspect of his game that he developed under Blackwell was his neck muscles.

His heart didn't seem in it and Blackwell was sacked three games into that season and then Gary Speed took over. Speed definitely played football but Britton just didn't seem to shine. You got the impression once he left to go back to Swansea that he quickly realised that he'd dropped a boob but had to stick with it, until he could go back.

Different opinions, mate. He was crap when he was 19, he's been crap every time I've seen him play. Sure, technically, he might be decent but for me he's always been lacking some b****cks you need to be a central defender. Every time I've seen Leeds on TV this season, I've seen him cost them a goal.

Leeds fans I know have raved about Bartley this season, and stated his partnership with Jansen was the reason they had a good season.

For me, a decent player who has learned his trade and is coming to his peak. So a big fat yes for me please.
Would he come? Would we pay what Swansea would want and his wages??
I doubt it sadly

My Leeds mate said he's very good. He was a kid who thought he was the next Rio Ferdinand when we had him. Now he's a bloke he might be a very good player at this level. I'm open minded if it's a possibility. I just don't think any desire to have him should be based on what I saw when we last had him.

My Memory was that he cried off in our relegation year? Is that right in Jan went to Rangers? as he did not want to be in a relegation battle, I might be wrong but I have held a grudge against him ever since, as you say a fanny when it comes to getting stuck in.

In fairness he probably wondered what the fuck he was doing

Still no excuse though for being a 6ft 4", 14st pussy though, is it?

I just looked back and found a news bit about it, when he left we replaced him with Neil Collins

I hope we don't look at Bartley, seems it would be almost a full circle back to the Dark days, hopefully we wil get young and hungry player instead to complement JOC and Bash or Wright.

Typical Billy big bollocks. Came from arsenal and thought he was coming for a jolly up. Avoid at all costs.

I didn't remember that we replaced him with Collins... I will never forgive Bartley now for paving the way for that to happen.
