To take a side that finished 11th the previous season and then finish 1st with 100 points is a tremendous achievement. It would have been a travesty if anyone else had won it.

I wonder what old Madkins thinks about it?

Well done Tufty, personally I thought he would get edged out by Dazzer Ferguson.

'Bout fuckin' time....no one else came close. After a wobbly start he stood by his beliefs, and faith and trust saw this club deliver in ways that no one else could compete with. The fact that one or two posters doubted Wilder would receive such an accolade shows the level of conditioning that some supporters have gotten used to. We've dropped so far it's not a surprise that some of us consider failure a by-product of following the Blades..........fast forward to 2017 and here we are, Champions, 100 points, consistently good to excellent football, and we have a squad full of potential and quality, with more, it seems, to follow.

Not bad the local lad, can take a drink or three, can spot a player with one eye shut, and is up there with the best manager's this club has had. The future's bright, the future's red and white UTMB!!!

Great achievement for him, but Rosler at Fleetwood has done absolute miracles, surely?

Not disputing the job other managers do for their clubs........but given the way we've become a lower league staple, without hope, playing poor, poor football, no signs of moving forward, and all we had were memories as life support, for Wilder to take hold of this club, get rid of the lowly expectations and replace them with a belief that we can, finally, achieve something, that we can at last look to the future with genuine hope, for myself this is last season's great football league achievement.

Brilliant for Chris and richly deserved. Can't believe he never got a monthly award. Next year Championship Manager of then Year?

I am though slightly surprised that Phil Parkinson didn't get it. After all he was not just getting a team to get promoted but one that will be expecting to be in the play offs next season (per Channel 5).

Erm..................something about Geese.

Why do people keep bringing Adkins up? Or Clough for that matter? We are going places, and if you keep looking back you may just miss it...

Why do people keep bringing Adkins up?

Because it was a disastrous abortion of a season that is permanently seared into the memory. To forget it would be like denying your history.

Just because all is rosy in the garden today doesn't mean it was yesterday or will be tomorrow. You need the pain to enjoy the high points. To be fair to NA, he certainly ensured we got plenty of the pain.

I agree. We must stop looking back and quoting those Adkins management sound bites.

Just remember when you are driving your car - your front windscreen and what's ahead of you is far larger than your rear view mirror and what you've left behind.
