I thought he tore us to pieces early on in the game then totally went off boil if I'm honest.

First 10 minutes he was good, after that he did very little. He had 2 shots from distance that nearly hit the top tier of the Bramall Lane end

He could play for a half and then we could substitute him and bring Duffy on. ;);)

Why do people think Carruthers is leaving?

If people remember away at Northampton we played with 2 number 10s. O Shea and Carruthers.

This is how Chelsea and Tottenham play. I do feel we need flexibility with the 3 at back as we can change the midfield around everywhere.

I'd guess he would be 500k and would be delighted if we got him.

Some people moan about not spending money and others moan about spending it.

One year left on his contract and he's 30 in June, so I'd say about 400k.

Where would he fit in our starting 11?

I assume in place of Duffy, or if the formation changes then out wide.

I note the stir is now saying we've made a bid. So looks like there's something in this...
Thomas is left footed so im assuming Holmes is right? That would make sense even though hes not an out and out winger.

I can't see him playing with two number 10s. Not when the club has Lavery, Sharp, Evans and Hanson on its books.

There would be too many disgruntled players.

If you look at Spurs they only have Jannsen as competition. Likewise, Batshuayi for Chelsea.

I think he will want to come. I reckon a bit of homework will have been done before we made our enquiries.
Robinson is a prick though and would probably rather lose him on a free next year instead.

Is that the official line mate?
At 30yr old, one year left on his contract, a chance to play for his old manager in the league above...i reckon the decision is down to him anyway.
Charlton don't want to sell but as you say it's down to him. They won't keep him if he forces the move but they claim he's happy down there. Anything can change though!

Disagree mate, Charlton were the best team to visit the Lane for me and everything went through him, he looked quality.

I've often thought that where you sit in the ground affects the way you see the game. I sit on the Kop and there were many sat around me commenting that Holmes didn't look anything special but there's plenty on here who have disagreed with me

No matter what the fee (although I very much doubt it would be anywhere near £500k) I can't imagine Robinson willingly part with Holmes, especially to Utd unless either (a) Carruthers is part of the deal and/or (b) Holmes forces the move.

And bar hitting the bar in the first 5 minutes Carruthers was utter shite at Northampton resulting in him being hauled off at half-time....

Holmes isn't happy at Charlton and wanted a move to the Blades last season. I'm sure he will personally force the move himself
