Who do we want to go down/stay up in the Championship?

Trouble with comparisons is that we don't have any forwards who were bought for the tidy sum of £2 million, which is the price that Birmingham paid (or close to it) for young Adams. Expectations should be high for a supposed 'marquee' signing, and Birmingham must feel that in Adams they've bought a player who is a long way from the finished article.

The Championship has changed beyond recognition since we were last there.

£2 million doesn't get you a "marquee signing" anymore, its pocket change.

I'm not one for defending Clarke as I'm not his biggest fan.....but, 5 in 4!! He's bang on form at present and I have to congratulate the chap, proved me wrong, I thought when he came back he'd be as useless as before, I was wrong!
Anyway, puts Adams to shame.

With hindsight, it was a really, really astute deal selling him last summer. At the time I thought it was another case of same owd, same owd selling our best youngsters but now we've seen how the Wilder era has begun and what he and Knill look for, it's clear Adams wouldn't have been up to it. Good deal.

going up

brighton newcastle Reading

departing
rotherham wigan blackburn
joining us sunderland boro and swansea from the prem , all bloody miles away

not bothered about any team in there , none worry me
Villa still faltering forest , ipswich struggling to stay up
Birmingham run by idiots Norwich erratic preston huddersfield doing well this season expect them to drop off
Burton be fighting relegation again
Brentford good at home not so good away Wolves , occasionally get it together then hit a bad run
the 3 coming down arent frightening
barnsley and wendies , no worries with them
wendies will all say as usual 6 easy points for them
blissfully ignoring theyve done it once in 100 years and as usual wont get them

I would give my right arm for the football gods to kick West Ham down and I don't care what it takes and yes I know what that means. They are my primary target

Breaking news, Zola has fallen on his sword and the burns victim has just been appointed Brum manager. Presumably Sandra or his dog will be involved too.

Birmingham to make a late relegation push anyone, or will work his 'geezer' magic again?

could do worse than appoint Jasper Carrot

Looks like it's one of Blackburn, Birmingham or Forest.

Bit of a shame as I want to visit them all next season, but if I had to pick one to go it would be Birmingham. Their owners richly deserve it.

I've thought all along that Blackburn will stay up, but they look the most likely to go now. Shame because as well as being a good one to visit they would also be a good bet to take up one of the relegation spots next season.

looking increasingly likely Blackburn s fall will continue
point yesterday was below what they needed , just not scoring goals

from buying the prem title to this
quite a fall

Don't think Birmingham will pick up another point, I can see them dropping

Pete, let me attempt to expand on your reply to my thoughts about the sale of Adams and what it might mean to United. At the time we were entrenched as a Division 1 club, our future was bleak, and for us, a 'marquee' could quite simply have meant spending over a million pounds. Fast forward, our fortunes have changed in ways we couldn't have imagined. There's a feel good factor, and although things can change, for the moment it's welcome. Like you, 2 million pounds probably won't see us sign a top rated player, although with Wilder's track record who knows what he'll surprise us with? I hope we do show ambition, equally I'll be as happy as Larry if CW buys a few players for not a lot of money and they turn into the type of players whose value has gone through the roof. Interesting times ahead, so I hope that puts everything into a healthy and appropriate context.

Living in Hampshire, I'd like Bournemouth to go down, purely for selfish reasons, although I can't see it happening.

Forest down as it stands! Really hope Blackburn stay up, they won't be much use next season and think they were unlucky with how Huddersfield played a weakened team against Birmingham.

As much as it would be fun to laugh at Forest their games are always entertaining with us and its more 'local' than the other two, Birmingham are the ones I'd really like to see go down to league one for how their owners behaved and to take the smugness out of Rosie.

However Che Adams has given them the lead so they might get away with it...

I'd prefer Forest to go down. Birmingham and Blackburn will be poor again next season and teams we can take points off.

Forest would just be funny, been spending this money the past few years and they end up getting relegated. Either them or Birmingham for how they treated Rowett, would be justice.

We often have cracking games against Forest. But Brum have to be one of the dullest clubs in all four divisions. Even when they had some success they played the dullest football under the dullest manager in McLeish.

Jamie Ward wins a penalty for Forest.... which Assombalonga smashes home, Blackburn back down as it stands :(

*but if Blackburn score another they'll stay up on goal difference. All three teams in danger winning, absolutely mental!

Blackburn go down, really feel them after what Huddersfield did against Birmingham.

Blackburn is a shit place and their fans aren't much cop so better games to look forward to.

That said I was cheering Brizzle on towards the end. Brum are a joke for what they did to Rowett and no doubt Harry will get a big bonus for doing fuck all.

So we get to visit the City ground where we can watch 16 year old Burberry clad yoofs shouting about scabs.

For me and all the other East Yorkshire blades it is looking like we will get our trip the the KC bowl to watch Allam's Tigers

Talk about committing hari Kari, only had to beat Sunderland! Come on Palace finish them off, then we can have some sport with thier plastic jonny come lately fans.

Hull 2 down so looks like we'll be facing them next season whilst they flog Harry and we get a chunk of money. I'd image they'd get more for him if they had stayed up though.

I'm not so sure. With the obscene amounts of money the relegated teams get these days, it's not like the club will be held to ransom. They'll know his worth and I doubt they'll settle for someone pulling their pants down.

Well watching Udders v pigs can't say I've seen anything for us to worry about next season if they're two of the top teams.
Well I have said the same and also the Fulham Reading match was not that good . Fulham ptobably had some pacy tricky players we would worry about but overall are these top 6 sides THAT much bettter than US ? Dont think so somehow

I genuinely don't mind.

Bring them all on, we'll battle every one of them.

So what will it be, Huddersfield or Reading?

Being completely neutral would prefer Huddersfield, nice to have a new Yorkshire team in the Prem.

But being a Blade as I am, I have to hope Reading go up. Hudderfield caused us a lot of pain in 2012 which isn't wiped out by today, and as local rivals would be good matches next season. Reading is an absolute dump hope never to have to go there

I hope Reading as I think out of the two, Huddersfield won't be as competitive if they don't go up.
