Ched Evans or Jordan Rhodes? :D

Alright Rhodes is definitely the better player and may find form, but value for money I'd definitely prefer to have Evans over him. I bet Rhodes will edge it but it'll be close enough for it to be an hilarious transfer for them in comparison XD They're having to may 10 million plus 30 k a week or something stupid

On a more general point 'they' haven't really moved on much since pipping us a few years back. Our seasons down here have been very painful but at least we had a couple of fantastic cup runs to show for it as well as being champions finally, yet all they have had is mid table mediocrity or play off failures XD

Bring on next season!

Super Ched. Deadly Jordan will hardly get a game as he looks very laboured up front for the pigs....mainly cos he doesn't suit their long ball style of football and is more of a footballer. I lost count of the number of times they just launched a 40 years ball down the pitch to no one in particular hoping Forest Fairy would get near it before falling on his arse for the 200th time in a game.

So whilst Ched gets back to scoring for the Blades, I look forward to Rhodes dream transfer going titties up.

Also, just got to point out that they've now got to find the transfer fee for Rhodes now as they had him on the never never sInce Jan. They gambled on having new premier league wealth to buy him but now....They've got to find another £10m on a championship budget. Seems that next seasons FFP budget might have just gone to total shit for the poor piggies....well tough shit. Pay up pigs. snigger.

I don't think our strikers will be too scared to take a penalty if required. That's for sure.

10m. 40k per week. One bottle missing.

At this rate, I think Connor Sammon would score more.

In all likelyhood I expect pigs to get a half competent manager in for next season, so the potential is there for Rhodes to have a game more suited to his. That said, not taking a pen last night was criminal.

Like Pardew *sniggers*?

Nice to see they still refer to Ched as a rapist over on porktalk. I guess they're already doing his personal team talk.

This poll is unfair on Rhodes. Change it from Ched Evans to Simon Moore and then it would be fair :p

He is probably one of the most overrated managers in football. How does he keep getting good jobs?

He finishes 6-10 places lower than expectation every season but reaches the odd cup final.

Would he be much worse than Carlos and his little dream though? God knows how much he has spent in the past 2 seasons. Wilder has spent £1m (approx) in transfer fee's and won promotions in 3 out of his last 4 seasons. I know who I would rather have!

Rhodes is poacher akin to Sharp or Edwards. He needs a long run in the team as it is all about confidence and we all know that Billy scores in bursts and has occasional lean spells. They bought him as a 'last push gamble' in the same way we bought Akinbiyi, a sort of 'just in case'/'shit or bust' transfer. Sticking Billy on as sub for 25 minutes per game wouldn't work either so fortunately they have completely misused Rhodes.

Rhodes may well still come good but it may not be at the Sty. If he is to gave the same bit part season he had this year, then in all seriousness I believe Ched will get more goals.

BTW, it hasn't worn off. I'm still grinning like an idiot and there aren't even any pigs in our office.

Done deal from what I hear:rolleyes:
Hope so. Usually starts well but is hugely inconsistent. It's actually hard to say whether he's a good manager or not, his career has been so odd. Couple of promotions, couple of cup finals, got Newcastle into Europe, saved Palace from relegation. You could see why a owner might be attracted to that kind of CV. But he's a massive bell end who usually manages to destroy anything he's achieved, before getting the sack.

Back with Rhodes and Evans were top scorers in League 1, Ched was undoubtedly the better football player.

Huge ask for him to be at the same level as Rhodes goalscoring wise, but I can see him coming back strong after a Wilder pre season.

But he's a massive bell end

I think an ego goes with the job, of being a high level manager.

He would come in to get them up in one season as I'm sure he still sees himself as a 'Premier League manager'. Tunaman would have to spunk up another £35m to cover 2 new 'star players' @ £10m each and wages at £40k per week. This is on top of the £200k per week paid to Forrestfairy/Hooper/Rhodes/Fletcher/Whinall.

Remember, DON'T BUY JOHN WEST!

Is Rhodes really the better player? .

Evans was a rising star at Man City and highly rated there as a teenager. He's represented them at first team level in Europe. He played in the Championship on loan at Norwich, scoring 10 goals in 20 odd games. Norwich fans really rated him and wanted to keep him.

He came to us and failed to impress in his first two seasons - how much of that was down to Evans struggling to fit into a different style of football under the likes of Blackwell, who preferred route 1 up to a big man, we just don't know. But we do know that in his third season, under a footballing manager, he wasn't just good, he was outstanding. And we all know what happened next.

We can't judge Evans on anything since his comeback at Chesterfield last season was hampered by injuries and after being out of the game for so long it was inevitable it would be a long road back.

But next season we will be able to compare a fully-fit Evans versus a fully-fit Rhodes.

I don't think the conclusion will be that Rhodes is the better player. For sure he's the bigger name (for footballing reasons) and the most expensive of the two by far. But Evans has a lot to offer too - and he doesn't mind taking penalties apparently!

All managers have an ego, you couldn't do the job without it, but not all managers are as big a dick as Pardew. He really is a prize twat. Ideal for them lot.

All very good points.

We'll have to wait to see what the future holds for the 2 players, but in that 2011/12 season, Ched was twice the player that Rhodes was. Rhodes was a clinical finisher when supplied but Evans had the lot. He had the power and pace to make and score his own goals; all types of goals. He was unplayable. Basically, he looked what he was; an international player playing in League 1. It was as if we were playing with a 'ringer'.

Hopefully, we will be able to get Ched back to where he was.

As for Rhodes, when the Pigs signed him I told countless fans of the Dirties around here that it was completely the wrong signing for them. In fact it was brainless. Rhodes won't make his own chances; he never has done. You might buy Rhodes if you were creating and missing loads of chances, but the Pigs had shown all season that they were creating very little. I maintain what I said to the Leeds fans in January, that of the players that the Pigs were linked with, the one that they really needed was Hourihane. Of course, the competition for his signature got too hot for them though when a truly big club came into the reckoning.

Good man. Nor should you lose your grin today. This season has been a long long time coming after years of being kicked in the teeth. I woke up this morning and started laughing out loud which woke the missus....i wasn't in the good books.

Not seen that much of Rhodes recently but that's how I remember him. Basically McNulty but given a long run in a team by Huddersfield. It was difficult to see him in the POF as he spent the entire game in Maguire's pocket.

A Fit Ched Evans v a Fit Jordan Rhodes. Ched by a country mile, he's in a more creative team

Not sure who'll score the most, but Evans was and still is a considerably better footballer than Rhodes.
