Let's be straight Portsmouth won't be paying a left back in league 2 3k a week.

No one knows if his wage has tripled but we know it will have taken a significant improvement as he's now a championship player.

He will be in line with unproven player wanting to make the step up and his wage will match accordingly.

Its still not been confirmed though which worries me slightly! I wonder if Pompey have gone back with an improved offer?

given that nathan thomas has had his medical agreed personal terms etc and the same applies for enda stevens i can see us announcing it as a double signing either that or were delaying announcing it for a bit because portsmouth players might still be celebrating their title win was only last week

Never ceases to amaze me how people still hang on Magic Mike's every tweet.

Stevie Wonder blindfolded can see through some of his stuff. A Portsmouth shareholder? How many on here have shares but aren't party to transfer talks.

My mate is a Pompey fan and sent me the link last week that someone put on here. Now Strappy edges his bets.

Met Stevie some years ago, lovely bloke

Didn't Strappy tell us that Burn and Morsey had already signed?

If 'Strappy' is Magic Mike, the transfer fantasist, his best was the centre-back Harlee Dean, a completely bogus rumour without any foundation. A player we made no offer for and had no interest in joining us. He fell for it. His sources are hack 'transfer' reporters on the internet to whom he sends begging letters. Occasionally he teams up with a Spanish resident 'accountant' who juggles figures for a few agents who leech off footballers. Nothing dodgy about that, of course. He also meets Max outside the school gates from time to time. He wins a fortune on the horses every day, but only reveals the winners after they've won.

If ever there was an 'ITK' Walter Mitty...

If Fletcher really is their highest, I bet he's on around 40k.
Good god, how many Billys could you get for that!?
£45k apparently.

I'm sure Forestieri is now on a contract to match the highest earner, after this strop earlier in the season. Would suspect others such as Hooper and Rhodes will be on close to that too.

He claimed that Harlee Dean was "turned up to 5 on his gasometer" before falling silent when Adkins nonsensed the deal.

You've lost me.

He's on about StraponIsJealous. It's the moniker that this Mike guy on twitter used on bladesmad in the good old days. That was before people started questioning his ITK status and he spat his dummy out.

Just to put that into context I understand Wednesday are paying at least 5 players over £30,000 p/w

Wednesday's strike force is on north of 140k a week combined.

And they're still woeful, turgid shite. Yesterday's effort at Huddersfield was embarrassing.

Wednesdays planned playing record for if they go up:

P38 W0 D38 L0 F0 A0 Pts 38

Survive on goal difference.

I think we'll announce him on the same day as Nathan Thomas.

On holiday at minute with the Portsmouth team (Check twitter if don't believe) . Transfer was complete tho before he went away

Cor blimey, who'd of thought that a team of grown men would share max's addiction for one Direction? Fizzy drinks, fake tats, and max acting like a Blade's fifth columnist..........something smells fishy.

If yesterday told us anything, if Huddersfield were 5th and Wednesday 4th, it's that aiming for 3rd is within reality!

As a neutral I was surprised how few of the basic skills either team could master.

Then I look at the way Coutts, Fleck and Duffy treat a Football.

Worlds apart. And not in the way the other lot would have us believe.

Tbf, Hussey was your archetypal approaching-30-years-old lower-league journeyman. Stevens is a different kettle of fish - he's won player of the season two years running and made the overall EFL (all divisions) team of the season this year. A player on the up.

Realise different folks have different expectations. Personally though, I'm loving us being strongly linked with these promising younger players desperate to prove their worth at higher & higher levels.

Agree it’s easy to say “he’s a league 2 player” but the reality is he’s been the best player in the best team of League 2. It’s like saying John Fleck “is a league one player”. Sometimes players demonstrate they are too good for a division and it’s time to step up. Based on what he’s achieved at Portsmouth, it seems he would obviously be good enough for League 1. We’ll see whether he’s good enough for the championship. I’m not sure he’ll be a worldbeater at this level but I strongly suspect he’ll be an improvement on Hussey and Done in the LWB position giving proper competition for Lafferty so it’s a signing that improves the squad overall.

He will have been on at least 2.5k p/w at Portsmouth.

When assembling that squad a couple of years ago they spent quite big for L2. The likes of Doyle and Gary Roberts won't be on less than 3k. Stevens was quite a big signing too so I doubt he'll be on much less.

Reckon we'll be paying him 6-9k p/w.

If we just offered something like 3-4k then I'm sure he wouldn't have made the decision to sign for us before the middle of May.

I think it will be closer to £6k than £9k. I’d be surprised if it was more than £7k. My guess is he was on about £2.5k per week and would now find himself on about £6.5k.

Played a number of games in championship on loan when a villa player so Knill & Wilder obviously confident he can do a job for us

Money apart are the folk on here who have a better knowledge than I, how do you rate these two players, as I say forget money are we pleased that we will possibly be signing them for our near/ medium target of achieving further success
