Watched 180 minutes of this garbage, I know as we all do they are tense affairs but does anyone think that we would not have done better than all 4 of these sides with our current side?

I know a lot of posters on here like to be conservative and I will probably get told to wind me neck in, but:

WE CAN DO THE BACK TO BACK PROMOTION NEXT SEASON

Watched the Wendys game talk about HOOF football UTB

I wouldn't be saying that based on watching two games.

Cue "I've been watching loads of games on Sky all season and the standard is garbage"...

We all need to chill out and manage our expectations a little.

Sorry for being a boring bastard.

Why? Why should we chill out and expect less? Glad you are not in the trenches next to me.

Not Trying to put a downer on your post, but playing football is all different kind of levels. Championship football players play on a different level to league one, and so on and so on.It might not look great, but the fact is they are playing at a higher level, so it is harder. Whether some of our players can hack it at championship level remains to be seen. I hope we do, but don't underestimate the difference, because there is one.

The quality of individuals is much higher. We are some way off in terms of individuals.

As a team and our style of play looks far superior. We have some players that wouldn't have looked out of place.

Be a good 2-3 year build to attain those players. However Leicester didn't have the best squad of individuals but it worked.

That's what we have to hope for.

My view is that we pissed the league, we were the Frankel of L1 this season, can we step up and do the same - damn right we can.

As long as we don't overestimate what the Championship is. From what I've seen this season and today we have nothing to fear.

Yes it is hard to judge when watching two Champuonship teams of a similar standard go toe to toe, but no-one is going to tell me that United would have been out of place on that pitch today.

Complete faith in CW & AK. I expect us to challenge for the playoffs. If we don't build on the momentum we have, I fully expect them to be poached, and ultimately leave, if they feel short changed, either contractually or investment wise. They're stock (CW/AK) is sky high. They will not fanny around.

Haven't watched either match but I can't recall a play-off first leg from memory which was a blood n' thunder, all guns blazing affair. The second leg is where it really kicks off, which I expect will happen again on Tuesday and er, the other day.

As has been said, there are obviously levels, but our side playing as it had been would've survived in the Championship. It'd take a fair few signings to get us into the play-off places, though.

Apparently Huddersfield had the same budget as Rotherham this season, so anything is possible. But there are a lot of unknowns to contend with in our first season back, so it's great to have beliefs and hopes but expectations can become minimum requirements and lead to dissatisfaction.

I don't care who goes up as long as it's not Wednesday! The rest have either been there before or will come straight back down. I just want them to play us next year and be severely punished. Our determination will outweigh their wage budget!

Absolute rubbish! Sorry! I was going to start this with..."with respect"...but we all know what that really means and so I didn't bother.

First of all, I have to excuse myself, my comments are not meant as a personal attack on you so don't take it that way, but it's like this...

I am an optimist. I know, I shouldn't live in Sheffield because that means I don't really fit in with the negative, glass half-empty, personality that seems to be the norm here. But just put that aside for one minute.

I've been watching for about 40 years. Never, in all that time, have I seen a more "together" team playing better football than this. Never have I felt we've had a better manager either. Now, you are saying that we've got "some players that wouldn't have looked out of place" - I'd argue that the majority of the current squad wouldn't look much out of place and that the ones we will add to it will make us a real force to be reckoned with in the Championship.

We've done back to back promotions before. Some of those players in the Bassett side were not ones who you would have thought could cut it at Championship level - but they did - and how! And why? Because of the togetherness of that team Bassett put together - which included Wilder btw.

I think the big difference between that back to back promotion winning team of Bassett's and this one is, we don't have a deadly striking combo like Deane and Agana. And that may be a limiting factor but we'll see who else comes in between now and the start of the season.

But make no mistake...this current squad would give most teams in the Championship a good run for their money and with some quality additions to it we will definitely be up there near the top. That's my honest opinion based on many years of watching United. I've always been optimistic but not this optimistic. It will not take another 2 or 3 years. Neither will Wilder be going for "a season of consolidation" like some of you folks are talking about - that's totally ridiculous and definitely not Chris Wilder.

So I am hoping for nothing less than top 6. In fact, I'm not hoping for it, I'm totally expecting it. And you know what dear Blades - talking about something doesn't make it not happen. So be positive because you've never had a better reason to be positive than this.
