Possible summer targets

I believe the more expensive transfers will come mid June onwards. Quickly pounce on the out of contract players early before anyone else can. Plus there are still clubs whose futures aren't decided so they can't really make transfer dealings yet.
Spot on.

The bigger signings tend to be later in the window.

would be a good championship signing depends how loyal he is to robinson though he might want to help robinson get charlton promoted

There's a good chance that Robinson won't be at Charlton by the start of next season - his Mrs is pushing hard for a move back north

Football is a funny old game, Jay O'Shea out performed Reeves this season statically. However we would all be excited if Reeves signed (Me included). Shows the depth we have already in our squad.

What's surprising me is that there are quite a few players who's contracts have been let run down who actually look to be good additions if they could be signed.

We are on a strong position having our league status sorted so soon - can steal a march on other clubs.

The likes of

Reeves from mk
mclauchlin from fleetwood
Stevens from Pompey
Etheridge from Walsall
Carey from Plymouth
Ward from Rotherham (thought his contract was run down )

Would all be additions that would at the very least add depth to the squad - few of them have made respective teams of the year.

Nathan Thomas from Hartlepool. Winger. Heard him touted a while ago, not seen much of him.

Reliable account.

watkins at exeter heard rumours we were linked with him around february would be a good signing but pressures on him to make the step up

EDIT computer was messing up so posted this twice by accident

Rotherham have taken up extra year option on Ward which obviously protects their fee.

Not convinced he's the"star" additional striker we need to add if we're to spend "big" in that area.

Sean Maguire could be a possibility.

Scored a lot of goals for Cork in Ireland, is being tipped for an international call up, is attracting interest from Championship clubs and has a release clause of just 125k.

I'm sure we have scouted that league.

Think he's a quick type who can also play wide.

Watkins was EFL young player of the year and has been heavily linked to Bristol City and Leeds. If we are going to spend big on a striker I'd rather sign him than Gregory or Ward as he's the one with the potential to turn into a £5-10m player.

I thought Ollie Watkins was a CM? Decent player looks a like a really good prospect but I dont think we will go for him.

He can play central midfield, attacking midfield, centre forward or up top, he's got the pace and quality to probably play on either flank also.

Scowen is the one I'd push the boat out for, unless we can get a better young premiership kid on loan.

I like Scowen but the Barnsley fans I know say he's an excellent player can play right back, centre mid, right mid.

I don't see him getting into our team and CW seems to like each player having a set position.

Not sure Scowen is any better than Fleck, Coutts, Carutthers, I think central midfield is our strongest position and I would be saving whatever 'big' money we have for a top centre half and fast up and coming centre forward

Scowen would be the first name on the teamsheet if we could somehow get him before the leagues big payers swoop. Industry and skill.

Josh Scowen isn't an improvement on what we have starting now in centre midfield, that's a fact.

He started 38 games for Barnsley this season and came off the bench in 3. He was suspended for 3 games so there were only 2 games where he didn't make an appearance. I think that makes him one of the first names on the team sheet.

I have a couple of mates who are Barnsley season ticket holders and he is always the one that gets mentioned as a stand out performer and the one they are most disappointed to be losing. From what they have told me he could be a great addition. Is he better than what we already have? Maybe, maybe not. But he's been a proven performer in the Championship the last two years. We have an excellent midfield pairing at the moment but if one of them gets injured then having someone like Scowen come in would easily fill that hole.

Barnsley fan at work reckons Scowen is too good for us when I mention that we're linked to him.
He's the main player that they are worried about losing
