What happened at derby is done, time to move on.

We need a creative midfielder and not play long balls to hendo.
Id play:

Kenny
SJH Morgan Killa Naysmith
Cotterill Squinny Speed Hendrie
BT Sharp

Subs:
Webber, Hendo, Monty, Halford, spring

Maybe Ugo in for Morgs though.

Seems pretty fair that, but I'd definitely have a keeper on the bench!

didnt put ugo in because he isnt fit(if he is, put him in)

could do with a keeper i suppose but i rarely put em on!

Currently, he "may" be fit in time.

I'd have him straight back in if he is :)

i would too, defence seems more organised with him!

UGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Nailed on cert 5-0 to the Blades.................................

ALWAYS expect the unexpected.

Early team news:

Spring (ankle ligament damage) out for up to 4 weeks. Montgomery (back) doubtful v Coventry Ehiogu, Hendrie, Beattie and Gillespie in squad.

:)

That was a pretty dire performance even worse than Saturday.

We were very very lucky not to lose that 3-1.

Safe to say it wasn't the best performance in the world...

In the circumstances a point and having a few chances to nick it was a good end to a bad night.

Need to see the SJH tackle again, because in real time and not very far away from the incident I thought he played the ball and despite jumping early moved his feet out of the way. Hard to tell at that speed though I guess. Others with a different angle say it was a disgusting challenge, so I need to see it again! Special mention to Chris Morgan though, for riling up a player we know is prone to the odd jumping tackle by laying into him moments before and refusing to take any suggestion back. Doesn't excuse any aggressive tackle if he did go for the man though.

My MOTM Billy Sharp purely for his goal.

I thought overall everyone was poor.

Poor performance but we have taken a point, we are not playing well at the moment, we have injury problems and there appears to be no new players on the horizon so it's fair to say we have a few problems.

I was pleased to hear KB sounding more then a little upset during his interview as this says to me that he sees the problems too. I just wish he would stop mentioning the credit crunch to try and justify yet another season of more out's then in's.

A win against Norwich would see a return of 4 points from 2 games and, being as how i expect us to get nothing from Norwich, i would be happy with that tally.

Bad bad game for united

coventry really took advantage of us tonight

Need to pick it up soon!

My MOTM monty thought he had a good game, despite what people say he gave the ball away less than anybody else and started the move for the goal by winning the header! Also set up the effort for speed with a good pass in from the right and the move which broke down at the end of the first half when sharp was offside by winning the tackle and playing a simple pass

Sounded to me like the players would certainly have just received some rockets shortly beforehand.

I don't think Radio Sheffield's interview technique does a lot for coaxing out good responses though, they regularly infer things that haven't even been hinted at or play up for a controversial reaction... Wouldn't asking Blackie where we go from here and how he wants us to play have been more constructive than insinuating that Blackwell thinks all is rosy because he could take small positives our of the reaction?

We always seem to have a crap match down there as well! Still, once again doing the miles in the vague hope this year might be the year we do well at Carrow Road.

I remember making that journey twice in one season (about 10 years ago) and both times we lost, played awfully and i'm pretty sure we didn't even manage a goal.

I rememeber that they had the floodlights dimmed right up until kick off so you couldn't make out who the players were while they warmed up; they might do that again given their current financial predicament.

Agree with everything there I think, I thought Monty played well. Did what was expected, won tackles, even made passes. Though he isn't a right back!!
From my view it was a definate sending off and he in no way deserved the round of applause he got as he left the pitch

Out thought,Out played and Outclassed by onother shite team with no money at the end of last season. Blackwell said there would never be another perfomance like Charlton last year well this one came pretty close the only difference tonight was we showed a bit of fight and actually improved when down to 10 men, why wait till then before passing to feet ???? If we had been up against a decent team we would have been on the end of a hiding. Monty and Speed in midfield plus hoofball offers nothing. Another black mark for Blackwell I'm sorry to say.

From my view, he looked like he won the ball and moved his legs out of the way. Looked committed, but a harsh sending off.

From the replay in real time... looked like a bad challenge and a red card.

Need to watch the replay in slow motion now :D

Well I've watched it again a few times, pausing at various stages and it certainly looks a lot worse than it did from my angle (not very far away) at the match.

He looks to me like he definitely does get the ball and his feet are around the player rather than through him, he definitely takes him with his legs either side of him. Looked two footed and the referee had an unobstructed view from probably the worst looking angle (in terms of the tackle looking worse) possible. Based on that view, its usually a sending off.

I thought he got the ball, but it was a pretty obvious lunge. He'd also not been concentrating for the previous few minutes, and I think that was part of his frustration. Just beforehand, he expected a free kick (as we all did), but why did he not play to the whistle?

A deeply disappointing United performance for the first 20 minutes. Then we woke up, but they scored, and the first half petered out.

Their penalty was nailed on, and despite Billy's great finish, I think we can count ourselves very lucky to have got a point against a pretty poor Coventry side.

Blackie's comments (which we heard in the car on the way back) to me said as much too.

Anyway, the rugby highlights are on ITV now .....
