Can Sharp be classed as a Lane Legend now?

Well he did have that great FA Cup game against Forest where he came on as a sub and scored two in two minutes!

oh he's a cult hero for sure and id gladly buy him a couple of pints ! really like the bloke.
but legend... definetly not

Not slighting him, but I think the word 'legend' is too easily bandied around these days and scoring a bunch of goals in the third division doesn't cut it for me even if he is a passionate caring local lad. He was a flop in the championship for the most part at relatively expensive price, there's still time for him to become a legend though for sure. He's certainly an icon who we all very much appreciate :)

(if Evans had fired us up with 35+goals in 2012 would he be considered a legend? Arguably that would have been a greater achievement than Sharp's, but again my answer would be no)

Captain of record breaking team , leading goal scorer & more than all that a Blade himself .. absolute legend ⚔️⚪⚔️⚫⚔️

No. Needs to score a few goals and show a bit of passion first.

Is Keith Edwards? If the answer is yes, then so is Billy.

Definitely, we should build a statue of sharp and wilder lifting up a red and white scarf

30 years watching United and he's one of the players I've most enjoyed watching, because of the goals but also because of how much it means to him.

It's a yes from me.

your missus hard to "pleasure" then pal? Mine too! Like trying to start an old car on an icy morning.

I usually call out the man from the AA, as for the car, I just use jump leads ;)

In answer to the OP, yes.

I'm not having that - King Keith scored 170 odd. How many's Billy scored - sixty? To be honest, I'm not sure either quite make it as a "legend" but that's ultimately semantics. Billy's had a brilliant season, and the fact that he's a Blade himself makes the relationship very special, but Edwards was the best finisher I've ever seen in the red and white stripes - if he'd had the chances Billy's had this season, he'd have scored 40, no bother.

Maybe, or maybe he wouldn't have got in the team because he didn't work hard enough.

He didn't run around much, admittedly, and he was offside a lot. But he's my favourite player of all time, and I'll spend the rest of my natural talking him up - goal hanger, all in the lower divisions, lazy - I've heard it all. Still King Keith to me.

Billy's picture will be on the walls of the South Stand with the likes of Morgan, Edwards and Currie etc - a fan, leading the club to promotion as champions and a record breaking points tally, and scoring 30 goals in the process - that's legend status.
