All these clubs and grounds.

We were all gutted when we were relegated to League 1, but many tried to put a brave face on it, with younger fans saying it was a chance to visit loads of grounds for the first time and older fans saying it was a chance to revisit grounds from yesteryear.

Well as i have said on many threads, i am sick and tired of driving to Oldham, Bury, Port Vale, Walsall, etc., and in previous years, as far as Yeovil and Exeter. A cold wintry Tuesday night, driving back from Rochdale, no thanks.

There were some decent clubs, with a long history, and some decent fans, but it's time to move on.

This has been an outstanding season, me and Mrs Grappler sat outside the Snake Pass Inn, on our way back from Bolton, first game of the season, having a drink with fellow Blades and wondering how on earth we lost that game, is Leon Clarke good enough, or Jack O'Connell?

New Years Day, top of the table, and we stayed there ever since.

Yesterday, watching Billy Sharp lift the trophy, a scrappy game and yet again we found a way to win.

So it's goodbye to small towns and small grounds, and if we do want a reminder of a bygone age, before electricity and sanitation there's always Oakwell..........

I don't know if anyone else thinks this way.

Looking at the League One Table for the last time, we finished 63 points ahead of Chesterfield... 14 points ahead of Boltonshit Wanderershit...
That's a 21 game start on CFC and five on the best loser....
After the beginning we made, that to me is a mind-blowing statistic.

I've kind of enjoyed it in a way. The supporters who've stuck with us, the fans of clubs like Rochdale who know they'll never be a PL club but keep following their team. It's been far removed from the corporate shiny shit of the PL.

I'm ready for a change though.

Great post and my thoughts entirely. I posted similar on a thread a month or so ago appreciating the lower league clubs, I'll always admire them for what they are.
