So what actually happened? Why was he sent off? I was talking to someone behind me then only noticed he'd been sent his marching orders and oddly nobody around knew what had happened. Fancy getting sent off immediately after equalising, no wonder they're headed for League 2!

It must have been for something he said. I saw United player push him and was surprised he didn't get a red as well. Without wishing to be too grumpy, Freeman was lucky to stay on for a second booking. To take your shirt off in celebration was stupid given how long was left. Realistically it is our only chance to get 100 points in a season which to me is a big achievement.

It looked like he slapped Billy in the face.

What an idiot. Stupidest sending off I've ever seen. They'd just scored and the kick off hadn't even been taken

Where did you sit? I was on KOP and he did took his shirt off in front of us it said RIP MOMMA I guess emotion took over. I imagine ref felt a right bastard carding him

Slapped Billy bang infront of the ref as well. I wonder what Billy said to him to warrant a slap?

When they were playing daft twats with the ball Billy grabbed it back I think that peeed him off.
What a pillock

Chesterfield wouldn't return the ball for the kick-off, Billy bodychecked him on his way back from fetching it and got a little slap bang in front of the ref. Very soft but a stupid thing to do

For a second I wonder if Fleck could have been sent off in the final minute.

He lost the ball and the Chezzie player was away and clear on a break away.
Fleck was no where near the ball and just decided to bring the man down with a clear kick taking his legs.
He was so far away from the ball it was almost an assault however the ref saw it as a professional foul and just gave a yellow card.

Looked no more than a trip to me, not through on goal. Obvious yellow and no more in my opinion.

It's on the Sky highlights. Looks like as Billy runs past him he goes for him, can't really make out if he slapped him or just sticks his head in but it's right in front of the ref. Utterly stupid when you've just got back in the game from looking like we were going to kill them off, even more stupid when you consider there was nothing riding on the game for them.

He was trying to claim that Billy had elbowed him.

I thought he'd nicked the ball to prevent the game being restarted... like the other time wasting antics they were up to.

You would be a bit pissed off as Chezzie fan because it seemed like their players only went for it once they went a goal behind. Then when they were drawing they didn't bother going for the win and started time wasting.

Got to say as the game went on their players were becoming a bit aggressive. Few tasty challenges flying about. Bye Chesterfield with your shite, bent spire. Hope we don't have to face you in the league ever again.

I thought they were both going to get yellow to be honest.

Both me and my mate next to me were convinced we saw Sharp take a swipe at him before they then came together in front of the ref. When the red came out my immediate reaction was that it had been for Sharp – quite a relief it wasn't.

I was in the kop and I initially read it as big momma. Best get my eyesight looked at.

Im glad for this thread. Because like few said above in that period of chesterfield celebrating 2-2 to kick off wasnt paying attension. & was very confused to see red card as couldnt figure how anyone could be sent off when we hadnt even kicked off

avin a go at Billy wots he expect. Nutter UTB

Just watched the highlights and did anyone else notice that Gardner appeared to spit on the referee when the refs back was turned?

Notice Billy starts to laugh on the highlights when the red card comes out. Stupid red really, but harsh from the ref.
