This is a good post Paulus and I agree with most of what you have wrote - but not the bit about Evans having a detrimental effect on the club's image or sponsorship deals. Rather, it has the potential to do the opposite. Evans has every right to have his career back and we are giving him a chance even though he hasn't really fully got back into the groove in his first season back at Chesterfield. It shows loyalty and support to Evans from a club that he badly let down due to his behaviour. In that sense it puts the club on a higher moral ground and challenges Evans to step up and see to that unfinished business from a few years ago. It could have all the makings of story that ended happy ever after.
However, for some people, Evans will always be in the dock. That's just the way some people are unfortunately. Should our club avoid him for fear of being tainted with the views of such people, or should we do the right moral thing and give the man a basic human right to work again for us? I am so glad we are brave enough to do the latter.
I think the point about controlling the morons inside the ground with their fireworks and high beam antics is very pertinent though. It is only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured and then the club will find itself in deep water for not acting decisively earlier.
They've made their position clear on this - yet it's still going on and we see no action being taken. So it's only going to get worse.
