OK, theres been abit of news that seems to have caused some unrest between supporters, but as Blades, are we really going to let abit of a romour get in the way of the party atmosphere!!?

Well!??

We're coming into the final game of an absolutely amazing season, the best many of us have ever seen, and yet something that hasn't even been confirmed is placing a shadow over everything the team and management have done this year!! Are you really going to let this be an issue!? Really!!?

I think that we need to put this aside for now, if even out of respect for the players and management, who, fuck me, deserve so much for everything they've done, and all the effort they've put in this year, they have done this for all of us and themselves and the club.
These men have given everything for the badge this season, I for one, dont think anybody could ask for more. In my eyes they are all heroes, and heroes deserve more than this shit!!

We need to stand behind them on Sunday and we need to stand together!!!!!
It's their day, they've done this for us, it their hard work that got us here and we as fans are the fuel for this engine, we are the greatest fans in this country and we are stronger than this, we've proved it enough times haven't we!!!

So let's get behind Chris and the lads on Sunday and give them everything they deserve, which to be fair, is actually more than we can give!! But let's go for it anyway.

WE ARE UNITED, LETS BE UNITED!!!!!!

What about the apocalypse?

Sunday will be shit if we're all dead.

Then nobody go to Nandos eather!!!!

The sad thing is this...

Any "unhappiness" this time is not being caused by the Feminazi and national press, but by a minority of Blades fans who are fearing another backlash that won't come, whilst at the same time creating their own!

FFS! You've said "In Wilder we trust" so fucking prove it and shut your complaining negative gobs. (To those who are moaning about it - not to most on here).

This could prove to be a master stroke of good early business. Don't bother coming on here next season when Ched is banging them in for fun and saying " hands up I got it wrong". Just bite your lip now and wait and see. Save you looking stupid later on when someone resurrects this thread!

What you like to call it then?? It is unrest, that's exactly what it is, and correctly "in perspective"!

What's the unrest people talk about? What i'm picking up from this is he's a player that probably won't be good enough for us next season and we would be better off using the cash elsewhere. That's the only reason I don't want to sign Ched anyway.

Well let's wait until the end of the transfer window before we make those kind of judgments.

The window ain't even opened yet!

Great OP. By the middle of the week, unless the club or RS make any more statements this will all blow over and our attention can be focused on Sunday. Celebrating with the players who've achieved this season. Let's look forward to next season and the players who will play a part next season after the Chesterfield game.

Don't let's lose that amazing bond that was shown at the end of the MKD game between fans and players over something that's not relevant until next August.

Bruce that's fair enough. But that's probably why you're not a football manager - and neither am I btw!

What I do know is this...

Been watching the Blades since the early 1970's when we had a fantastic team. I've seen lots of really good strikers in that time but I think Evans at his best is on a par with any of them. He was simply "unplayable" at times. Absolutely devastating! Honestly I've never seen better than that in a striker - ever- in a United shirt.

I know we've no guarantee he'll ever be that good again. BUT for £500k when strikers are fetching £10 m or more at this level - are you seriously telling me you don't think that is worth a punt?

I think you and some other Blades are still thinking "League 1" in terms of transfer prices tbh.

This is a potential steal and if not it won't break the bank.

Very astute move for me.

Safe to say the outrage expressed here this evening, despite it being often sincere, will not be reflected at BDTBL on Sunday.

I remember the prophecies of large scale protest against Adkins, which never materialised.

I also remember the shit storm when Marlon King signed.
Apparently there was going to be demo's in the car park and 5,000 were boycotting matches.

Guess what? The gate actually went up about 2,000 for Kings debut and so many rang Radio Sheffield to say they were heading their season tickets back and crowds would be under 15K.
Also no booing, only cheers (abet muted) when introduced to the crowd.

Think people will be laughing on Sunday about this faux disharmony because it won't be there.
Also it wouldn't surprise if theres loud chanting by the whole stadium in support of Cheds signing.

PS excellent post above by Cerberus.
No one knows if Ched will be any good, he might be crap.
But what we do know is, Ched at his best is a top level Championship/ lower PL standard striker and would be worth 5 to 10 million easy. So it makes £500K look a worthwhile gamble.

Stick with the plan for Sunday 100 points, 100 goals so score 11 goals on Sunday and worry about new players in the close season, it's simple this football management lark:)

I'm not keen on Ched for a couple of reasons.
1) he was shit prior to that one, lone season
2) if he'd have kept his pecker in his pants we would have been out of this league 5 years ago. He let us down, big style.

I'll not moan about him if Wilder is managing the situation and I'll jump up and down if (he) we score(s).

I'm very uncomfortable with this, though. It doesn't sit well with me since I thought we had moved on and the wounds had healed.

By the way - he wasn't proven innocent it was that he couldn't be proved to be guilty because of reasonable doubt. Not quite the same thing.

Apart from inevitable imature chanting from the top corner of the kop  on Sunday, nobody will give any thought to Ched whatsoever.
The day is for the current Blades squad - Ched is likely to be part of the future so let's celebrate/complain when he does sign.

UTC - Up The Champions :D

Imagine signing the player, that kept us in this league for 6 years. Might as well get Simonsen back swell ffs

Past your bedtime youth, what ridiculous comments.

Based on one good season 5 years ago? 5-10 million? Words fail me.......

Yeah that confused me as well lol

Well if he didn't go down we would have gone up. Yes he is innocent, but reading the evidence, it was a stupid act. Risking his career, girlfriend and child. Was it worth it? I think he'll agree it was the biggest mistake of his life. He is the reason we didn't go up, along with stupidity from management in not have a back up for Ched.
