Can We Hit 100?

If I am honest, I think Wilder might have an Italian mentality when it comes to this game. He will want 100 points but I doubt he kicks a team when they are down. As much as I would like 100 goals, I don't want us to embarrass Chesterfield on Sunday. A few Ola's and a 3-0, few squad player run outs for me.

I see your point, but the team have to be professional and do their job. Their first responsibility is to the fans and whilst one could feel a certain amount of sympathy for Chessie and their supporters, our supporters come first and they have paid to see the team perform and do their job.

Finally, I don't see 4-0 as an utter embarrassment. That scoreline appears regularly on a Saturday. Where do you draw the line with that sort of thing? Why did we score 3 at Port Vale as they look like being relegated?

If the boot was on the foot, do you think clubs would give our club the sympathy vote, because I don't.

Anyhow, I may have got the score completely wrong and they may just give us a game and then it would be fair play to them

Sorry Sheffielder, but difference of opinion here buddy

Won't get 100 points sadly, that would be a superb achievement.

I know we are capable of winning 5 on the bounce, but I would say we are bound to drop points in at least one game. Probably home to Bradford, or away at Northampton. If Bolton had dropped a couple on Saturday and were 8 behind there would be a little less pressure and the lads would relax.
IMHO, the team have known they were promoted for a few weeks, they have had the target of winning the league for a good while and won't settle for less. Hence the odd bit of nerves flying about.

I know there has been a lot of pulling out old threads and reminding people what they put last August, but as one of less than 3 week ago, this prediction is pretty well, err, crap. Sorry. Think it was wrong on every count (including the nerves).

A 15 and a 16/17 unbeaten run in one season.

And but for that ridiculous home defeat to Walsall it could have been 22 and 17 - which surely would have been some sort of record in itself.

Another thrilling stat:

If we keep a clean sheet then we will have averaged under a goal a game conceded, for just about the first time this season.

It's really impressive how we've conceded so few goals when it's really mattered - 11 in 16 since the start of February, and 9 clean sheets.

I think even the most optimistic Blade (if there is such a beast) wouldn't believe we'd be in this position. I did that predictor thing back in March and I thought I was being optimistic when it came out we'd got 94 points.

It's hard to see anything other than a comprehensive Blades win next week. I'd love to see us get 5 or 6.

Well we havent got the 100 points yet, but I can't see anything other than a win on Sunday.

I did think we would drop points in one of the last 5 games. I thought Northampton for the Wilder factor and them wanting to get one over on their ex manager, or Bradford as they seemed to be hitting very good form and scoring goals turning draws to wins.
But turns out my team were just too friggin good....scraped a win at Northampton and pretty much thumped the rest. Glad to be wrong...possibly.

That is an object of rare beauty. Please produce a final version after Sunday, whatever the result.

As requested, here is the current version - it's just waiting for the last result on Sunday.

I've also put below the first table an up to date win/loss/draw League Table - which again shows Walsall sticking out like a big red broken thumb. At least we don't have to play them next season.

Oh it matters now. At the time I was concerned about being pipped to the title by those Bolton wankers. I should've had more faith.
I still don't care. I'd like to but it's just not happening. I've had a completely unknown feeling over the last couple of games; I've thought 'not that bothered about the result but we'll probably win anyway'. That's the opposite of how I'm usually feeling at this time of year.

It wasn't that long ago that people were saying our defence was shaky.

Nah.....batter them by as many as we can possibly score...and if we get a second half penalty and are already 3 or 4 up then let Simon Moore take it to rub salt even deeper.

We owe Chesterfield nothing......put on a show for the fans.

Our record against teams in the bottom 2/3rds of the division is outstanding. P31 W25 D4 L2. Approaching Celtic levels of mercilessness.

It wasn't that long ago that people were saying our defence was shaky.
It was less than a year ago that people were booing them and saying they weren't fit to wear the shirt.
What has been impressive is that we've continued to improve throughout the season, both as a team and as individuals. The last few games have been a different level, and at the business end of the season too. We usually limp to a finish but we've sprinted this season.

Fuck going easy on Chesterfield. They'll have about 500 fans there, they don't care anymore, and the players probably don't either. We owe them nothing, and Wilder owes Gary Caldwell nothing.

We should go and put an exhibition on. Big crowd, finish in style.

And we're way overdue to score 5 - we haven't done it in the league this season, somehow.

Offer me a 3-0 win now and I'm not sure I'd take it!

This season has been brilliant and to even be in with a shout of getting 100 points is incredible. However, you look at that results list and wonder just what it could've been like when you consider how many of the drawn games we could and probably should've won, like Scunthorpe at home, Rochdale and Charlton away.

100 is an unimportant number for me. I'd rather give some of our promising youngsters part of a game to get a nervous debut out of the way and to send a message to all youngsters that if they have the right skills and do the right things they'll eventually get a chance at utd.

I think the pressure on them to not arrest a winning run and get us to 100 points would be surprisingly significant.

Plus, I think the first team has more than earned a celebratory last match of the season (and without necessarily expecting an easy win).

Wilder has stated he wants 100, I fully expect us to 'turn up'.

I used to think Chesterfield were OK, however too many of them were giving it to us when they started the season better than we did. F*ck em.

Billy get yourself to 30, Leon can you finish on 10 and let Simon Moore score a pen will you, just about every other player has scored this season, plus it will prove keepers can score pens!

I'd normally agree, but also argue that players like Long, Scougall, Wilson, Hussey etc deserve to be a real part of it this weekend, it was the squad that won the league.

See that Lincoln have just bollocksed up their efforts to reach 100 points, ending up on 99 by drawing their last game.

They too went into their last game playing the league's bottom side, Southport on 38 points (Ches have got 37).

Southport got an 88th minute equaliser to deny Lincoln.

And add to Charlton , Rochdale and Scunny etc just one win from the first four . The mind boggles . What's the betting Wilder focuses on this when all the dust has settled too . He's obsessed with winning :)

As an interesting aside , I was looking at the form guide earlier ( a guilty pleasure ;) ) and I looked at the last 6 games . We are obviously top of the pile with 6 out of 6 . Surprisingly though , in second place were Scunthorpe with 5 wins and a loss . Playoff dark horses maybe .

Fuck Chesterfield.
Fuck giving precious fucking kids a game
And fuck having mercy on any cunt at anytime in any game.
It's all about winning. Every fucking time.
Any bleeding heart thinks different is a waste of skin.
Thank fuck Wilder thinks like a winner.

As requested, here is the final version - and a century worthy of Joe Root.

I've also put below the final win/loss/draw League Table - fucking Walsall.

Finally, Tufty's 2 seasons - 199 not out - and we got him the ton that Northampton couldn't!
