I hope he rediscovers his form, and I hope we do well in the interim and hope he comes back here, TBH. Unfinished business.

Worked out well though, didn't it Silent? I mean, how much did Brayford cost? £1.5m-ish? We sold Harry Maguire to fund that, so the story goes. Flog your PL standard centre half to buy a right back who fails to live up to the past and then is injured, and not a shadow on his return only to be quietly loaned out to save face.

Great investment. Game changing, in fact.

ho-ho-ho-ha-ha-ha. Etc

There is nothing sadder than digging up old threads to try and make someone look stupid.

Anyone who hasn't got something wrong on a forum clearly doesn't give any opinions!

S'okay, YB. It's the last, desperate act of desperate people. We've all been wrong at some or other time on here. Except Silent, of course.

It's just annoying opening threads like this. You think there might be some new news about Brayford leaving, only to scroll through to find the latest post and it just turns out it's someone point scoring with a stranger they have never met on a forum!

I don't know what certain posters expect? Me to suddenly have an epiphany and realise what a fucking awesome bloke McCabe has been and everything we have had to endure has been forgettable bad luck? Fuck that. I want him now to fulfil his promise and reinvest. I want to see him active in keeping us in the division I feel we belong in and battling at a level commensurate with what I feel to be right for the team I support, not capitulating to teams from cities way down in the feeding tree and failing year upon year. I can't and won't forget the last ten years, and neither should any self respecting Sheffield United fan.

We are on the springboard now. Its up to him how high we leap.

People that are still angry after the last couple of weeks genuinely confuse me.

Whatever floats your boat.

See. There's another thing. Anger. At what? I am not angry. I am simply stating my opinion. I won't get all chubby and lubed up over McCabe, simply because for once, he has not fucked the team at the beginning of this season or in January by flogging players. I disagree with those who do and point out what we have had to endure to get to where we are, five ... six bruising seasons where this has happened consistently and after we should have been champions anyway. There's no anger, just a differing of opinion. I'm elated we have been promoted as champions, but we were relegated here in the first place for one reason or another, and it wasn't bad luck. Before we went down, a lot of genuine ability left the squad (including one Billy Sharp), this not two seasons after we had some or other weighty compensation deal from the Tevez affair and parachute payments.

Anger? No.

I don't get what everyone is moaning about to be honest. I mean, 2 out of 3 of my wishes have come true so far. He's rediscovered some form, and we have done VERY well in the interim (much better than we anticipated). To make it 3/3 for me, he just needs to come back now. Which although less likely is not implausible. UTB.

For someone apparently not angry, you do an excellent impression of lengthy rant that seems angry.

Although personally, I'm just looking forward to welcoming the lads home tomorrow after an excellent season that makes me....happy.

Well, I can reliably assure you, you're wrong. Just because someone uses a lot of words you can't be arsed to read to offer explanation, doesn't make it an angry rant - as you try to believe.

Well, knock yourself out.

Got owt to offer about the Brayford scenario, which is what this thread is about? Or d'you want to keep imagining there's some sort of meltdown going on?

Already offered my opinion on that before your definitely not angry intervention.

Throughout the last few months, I thought I'd be really disappointed if we went up but didn't win the title.

Then, the day we went up, I thought, 'fuck it, this is great on its own!' (helped of course by the fact that we also took a huge step towards the title that day with Noblot losing). Then we marched effortlessly to the title.

I'm a bit of a pessimist by nature but you'd have to work damn hard to find the negatives right now.

Nothing negative about this season, apart from the shaky start and even that seems a billion years away now.

The team and the manager have done a fantastic job in taking the title at a canter.

'Intervention'? Oh, you mean you speaking about being angry after I'd responded to SIlent's post digging up a past post about Brayford?

That 'intervention'?

Okay. I see.

I think it quite likely that Brayford we be in our team next year. It is entirely dependent on If CW sees him as his type of player.
Brayford felt the passion of this club and it became part of him. That is the part CW wants most in his players.

I personally would prefer to cash in and sign someone else, assuming Brayford still has a decent transfer value of course.

Brayford swapped a season of success here for a season of spooning Cloughie on a daily basis. His wages going (at least in part) freed up the cash to bring in others here and those others have done a good job.

How predictable that one of the happy clapping bunch would resurrect an old thread to score points as soon has we have some success. What you happy clappers forget though is you have consistently got it wrong since the day we dropped out of the premier league ten years ago. Oh well you know what they say even a broken clock is right twice a day, I just find it a bit sad really when we should all be celebrating that some feel they have to take cheap shots at other posters.

I get this. Why do we live in a society where people can't post passionately on what they believe without it being considered angry? Personally I think it is just a way for someone to belittle your point. "Ahh but you are angry so your point is rubbish"

I'll post, I'll swear and I'll put an opinion across, strongly in some cases. To say I am ever angry would suggest something that just isn't true.

Always been the way with some. More important to be right than to actually understand we all want the same thing. Let's be honest we have all got it wrong over the years and will continue to do so. I thought Adkins was a good appointment at the time, shows what I know. The only people not getting it wrong are those with nothing to say.

I dont think Brayford has a future here.

We cant play both freeman and Brayford in their best position of Rb/wb

I think Brayford will be allowed to move on and we can use his wages elsewere.

Sorry John B I was one of your biggest fans but look at the "memories over money" you have missed out on this season. Or should it have been "memories over cloughie" either way your loss.

I think only Barney got it right with Adkins and he got dogs abuse for his troubles.
