Since the prince came in with the aforementioned platitudes, I think they have been good to their word, and here's the key bit, relative, to the league that we are in.

Time to do that in the championship, going a little bit better allround.

I'd take 4 years in the championship, with some "going a little bit better" cup runs, and then pissing the league to gain promotion....

We are the cham

I think the point's been made before, but the intention behind the phrase seemed to be "think strong, continual investment, not flashing the cash all over". And if that's the case then I think it's fair to say that's what we've seen. We've had some major problems in terms of underachieving, failed managers, money poorly spent on a large number of the wrong players, but we've always had a level of stability in which we've regrouped at the end of a season and gone again.

It was always said that the bulk of the investment was to be made on a Championship return, so we'll see what the future brings. That quote really needs to go down as a fine example of what not to say to football fans.

Gagey seems to know something about next year's budget, maybe?

I'm so happy I could shit myself.
FOUR YEARS!!!

According to the recent age survey, half the posters on here could have either popped their clogs or lost their marbles in four years...and I might be one of them.

Ferk that, we need back to back pal...ya selfish young git. GERRRCHA! ;)

To third division football fans certainly. Sounds like loads of cash...

In principal though they've done it so far. Finally.

Everyone knows we aIN'T GOT A BARREL OF MONEY.
REGARDING NEXT SEASON i BELIEVE wILDER WILL AIM HIGH,IT SEEMS TO BE HIS DEFAULT POSITION AND A VERY good position to hold.
Just seen I 've hit fucking caps lock and I'm too fucking tired to fucking retype the cunt.
Fucking keyboards.

mARVELOUS!

How much do we just need to have one manager, that we're all definitely behind, for some period of time.

Everyone can now agree that we've got our man, we can see what he wants to achieve, and some slack needs to be cut.

When we're bottom of the league 4 games in don't write him off.

Now give him some cash.

This has been done to death already............

I think what KMC was saying is that Liverpool are and still are not money bags Man City in terms of investment but that we will be investing and spending in a prudent manor.

However.

That was 4 years ago and im pretty sure that we will have already spent a chunk of that money.

Is HRH prepared to spend more? or bring in co investors?

Either way im sure that WIlder will be backed. and im also sure that he will be given time to adjust if needs be.

Between 4 and 6 prudent signings, the majority of which I reckon Wilder has pretty sorted.
No panic or worry here.
For the first time since Bassett the right man at the right time at the right club.
Chill the fuck out and enjoy the summer.

Just noticed that was posted in Belgium, so he may know quite alot if he was hanging with the McCabes...

Yeah noticed that as well mate, partly why I suspect he is onto something. That being said any remotely decent Championship budget would piss all over what we have had to spend in League 1. I still don't see us having anything like a top 6 budget next year but maybe mid table(ish). Either way it's how the money is spent that's important, not how much we have.

Your last sentence is key.
We might spend 5million in total but the right signings to fit the right game plan with the right manager, existing players and momentum can and could well be worth treble that amount spent in a reckless way.
We have history of both.
Bassett the former,Robson the latter.
Which worked wonders?

I think or hope at least that it will be more Basset esque. I expect 4 or 5 really good and really well researched signings to come in very quickly, with quite a few going out at the same time.
Whatever happens it's exciting having a manager at the helm who has adapted supremely (so far) to more or less every footballing challenge that has been thrown at him. With Knill et al alongside him we have probably the hottest management team outside of the PL right now. Bring on next season, can't fucking wait!

Worth remembering that we're going into the championship with a very low wage expenditure. This means that even with a moderate to large championship budget we have a hell of a lot of room to manoeuvre.

We will compete at the right end next season. The absolute fucking don we have in charge wouldn't have it any other way.
