Brought this thread back because Saw a video on my twitter feed from @footyawayday (would upload but no idea how to upload the video on here) & its of alledgely a Sheffield united fan pre match today letting off a flare inside a pub, my days it doesnt happen often but i was speechless watching it, because i cant believe a person could be so stupid its bad enough in an open air stadium. But it takes a special type of selfish Moron to set it off inside. they make Ralph Wiggum look smart

They did it at Scunthorpe last season. Police started indiscriminately putting Blades on buses to the ground afterwards, a mere two hours before kick off. Ruined everyone's fun. On another note, when you take a asthmatic child to the game with you, it's not much fun having to be rushed to first aid and have your match cancelled. Or to be praying that it doesn't happen because you've forgotten the bloody inhaler. For those with terrible asthma or bad breathing problems, it must be a nightmare.

In a pub is bloody stupid and gives all fans a bad rep, but in the stands personally doesnt bother me, i can understand they get a bad perception due to being similar to flares but they dont do any damamge, do they...?

The problem is, as we gain a reputation for being wankers, it affects all travelling fans. Pubs which would make the sensible amongst us welcome will bar their doors on Police advice. Coaches will be forced straight to grounds. And oh yes, tickets will be limited.

As for the bloke defending the BBC earlier in this thread. On the one occasion I got a kicking by some Leeds fans they were were nowhere to be seen. As for smoke bombs.....they can cause issues for those with breathing difficulties.

It's typical "look at me" selfish attitude. Anyone letting off flares and even more so aiming them towards others need sending down for a very long time. It's akin to using knives, bats or any other weapon in my opinion.
