In todays Daily Mirror, it says Warnock was accused by Ron Atkinson of telling United players to break Trevor Francis's leg. Unless my memory is playing tricks on me. I'm fairly sure Warnock and Atkinson were never managing in Sheffield at the same time . A quick Google search and Francis played for the filth 5 years before Warnock was our manager. Another piece of sloppy journalism, or is there really a section of press who like to slag us off at any opportunity.

Yes, wasn't he mimicking someone going in to stamp one of his Notts County players (Tommy Johnson?) and it was interpreted as Warnock ordering a player to break an opponent's leg? Always seems like a ridiculous suggestion.

That sounds about right. I was in the kop fr the cup game v Man Ure in 90 (lost 1 nil McClair winner I think) and I recall the Man Utd boys being pulled out of John St West. There were quite a few of em that day if I recall and London Road was a little bit busy I was in John St West for the FA Cup game in 93 when Hodges did the business and I don't recall a single Manc in with us that day. They had obviously learned their lesson. There were fkin loads of em on London Road that day though before and after the game and it was an 'interesting' day all round.
