Look at that gormless fucking linesman though. What a dick he was.

"Excuse me! You can't do that Mr Wilder, you're out of your technical area"

Joke of a linesmen, didn't have the bottle to make calls on throws and more than a couple of wrong offside decisions.

I have noticed that Linesmen have been particularly poor recently. I expect referees to be up and down but when your linos are also shit it makes for a car crash waiting to happen. Most of them don't even seem to keep up with play anymore which is a fairly basic requirement for the job.

This one was so far behind on one occasion he gave an offside, wrongly, that he couldn't possibly have seen from where he was.

And Sharps goal was onside having seen it back.

Very difficult one though with Clark moving the split second Billy played it through.

Either of you see the documentary on Sky by Neville/Carragher?

They went to train with the elite referrers and linesman. Was a good insight to how they approach things.

Not saying it makes up for performances like the one last night, but it does make you realise how hard their job is sometimes.

I have been reviewing the slide and I am not sure it's Wilder's finest work. Far too much knees and elbows and because of this came up short :(

Haven't seen it mate but would be interested in doing so. I don't doubt that it's a hard job and I can forgive a few mistakes but I do also think that the standard of officials in general is getting worse. Or maybe they are just more scrutinised?

We have had some awful ref's and links this season though. Worse than ever I think.

Its available 'on demand', definitely worth a watch - Carragher/Neville do a linseman test on offisides, shows how difficult it is in real time.

No doubt we suffer because of our position in the league ladder - the top, generally competent, linesman are put on games at the top of the tree unfortunately. There's an obvious divide in the quality.

Yes, a real eye opener.

Never slag the officials off, just point out the odd error!

I always remember what an old ref once told me, we are the only unbiased people in the ground.

Far worse in the Porterfield days. Some shockers. The game was easier to ref in those days, it was played at half the pace it is now and you had to punch someone in the face or break their leg just to get a yellow.

Chrissy Wilder, he's one of our own.

Fucking love the guy. What a change he's brought to our club.

If ever there was a song for what Wilder has done...

I'd swap that for Kasabian in a heartbeat. Certified banger.

I think some practice at home on the lawn is needed to be honest. Then, we can think about putting him into the prestigious " managers belly slide " competition.

If practising at home though it's wise to check the surface for dog shit first.

Looks like he suddenly realized he might damage the Desso
