I was subjected to a kid of about 11 or 12 years old shouting "come on blades" every 5 minuted directly into my ear as he was sat behind me. Some of the stuff he was coming out with was embarrassing to say the least. I can only imagine is dad wasn't around to shut the little prick up. stuff like shouting "switch it" when the play was in the middle of the park or shouting "smash it!" when we were in possession on the half way line or "don't play wi ball" about 17 time. What the fuck are they meant to do with it?

Also lots of others around me groaning at every single mistake and shouting "get it forrad." I think the first 15 minutes we were actually pretty good albeit slow. We kept calm, kept possession, never looked flustered and were passing around trying to create a space to play it into but because we weren't smashing it into the box at every opportunity the twats around me were having a meltdown

If you get some knobheads slagging the players and even the manager now then what on earth is it going to be like next season when it's not quite so easy?

I think we'll be back to the classic Blades infighting next season unless we're in the top 6.

We've used up at least 10 years worth of bliss this season.

thanks for the responses. It takes all sorts I guess.

From the sounds of it I've been pretty lucky cause whilst it was mildly irritating it wasn't awful.

Some of you sound like you are really putting up with some shit.

For what it's worth, I thought the crowd was pretty good last night, decent atmosphere on a tricky night.

I assume every game from here on in is a promotion party

Exactly ,they should focus all their energy's on slagging the fans like you do

It pissed me off more when "fans" were streaming out with 5 minutes to go! All stood in the Kop gangways blocking the view for many people, me included.

That team deserved to be acknowledged at the end. We did our part and won the game. Fleetwood pissed on our bonfire.......for a few days.

There is a bloke who sits somewhere behind me, who for most of the season has shouted "fuck off Coutts", whenever he gets the ball????

Just turn round and say "Hey up Boo" next time you go.

My favourite anti-Coutts moment from last night came as he was running toward the Kop, first half so facing our goal, and someone shouted "get it forrad Coutts you twat". Cue 5 minutes of jollity as we discussed the possibility of back heeling it 50 yards whilst on the run.

I find it hard to understand not wanting to watch every minute of a game like that in a season like this one. It's not like you'd have been surprised if we knocked a third in either.

I once got corporate tickets to the Arsenal v Chelsea Champions league game in 2004 and sat at the back of the North Bank. There was one guy who constantly slagged off Thierry Henry....everything he did (or didnt do) met with a volley of abuse.

Every team has them.....god knows what he would have made of Higdon!
Yes, but he was no Alan Smith was he?:)

I don't think some of our supporters are that into football. I think we've got quite a few who just go for a day out with their mates or family. Like the Cov fans who've switched to watching rugby instead, they're not really bothered about the intricacies of the game, it's just getting out of the house and having someone to 'support'.

I've heard 'I'm not bothered about other football, just Blades' quite a bit and I think it explains why some of our fans are blinkered and ignorant. They have a narrow frame of reference and quite often they don't really understand what they're watching. And in many cases, they're pissed.

This is why it's good to have somewhere like this. Most on here won't be ignorant, will be genuinely into football, passionate about United and actually pay attention to what happens at the club. We have that in common, and that brings a sense of unity. At matches it often doesn't feel the same, and I'm left wondering about some of the people around me.

The bloke in front of Bert posted a message in the Shout box at half time. Bert checked his phone to see who he is in on here. When the second goal went in that bloke was waving his arms about and shouting abuse at the Coventry fans in a very in gentlemanly way. Bert noted who he was.

This has started to really piss me off this season and I've posted about it before. I have no problem with people wanting or needing to leave early - it's their choice. The problem I have is that they don't actually fucking leave, they just watch the remaining few minutes of the match at the bottom of the kop and cause congestion so others are standing in the aisles blocking views at at the end of the match no one can get out quickly cos the whole exit area is blocked and congested. I mentioned this to a steward on the way out last night but I may as well have been talking to the fucking railings.

Can't stand this one either, fair enough if we're losing heavily, but why when we have the chance to seal promotion would you want to leave early?

I'd genuinely love to hear from people who did go early, as to what their reasons were, as I can't for the life of me understand it. Are they that desperate for the next pint, or is saving 5 minutes in traffic more important than potentially seeing your team promoted?

One of my favourite moments has to be the last minute winner vs Bury, absolute pandemonium on the Kop. I also love to think how disappointed those "fans" would have been that heard the cheer while walking back down Shoreham St :)

It's already been established - they need to get back for their glass of milk and beans on toast by 21:45.

The delayed kick off last night threw a huge spanner in the works so it was understandable that loads steamed out with 5 minutes to go - waiting until 22:15 for the beans on toast just isn't on, really.

The argument that they have to be up early for work is bollocks. I stayed to the end, applauded the players off the pitch, got to sleep at around 11.30 and still made it to work for 5.25 this morning.

I've not done a deal today, but that's beside the point, I'm here. :D

We've never met (at least i think we haven't), but you've got me down to a tee there.

I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention my excessive abuse of officials and opponents though.

and...???

Had one appear next to me too. Oohed and aahed at every little mistake. Was getting right on my wires!

He can't have been there last season and sat through a debacle on repeat week after week if he thought there was anything to moan about last night.

I never ever ever ever get that. You'd never walk out of a play or a comedian's stand up routine with 5 mins to go.

Plus (maybe its because I'm a true Yorkshireman and such a tight arse), if I've paid £25 for 90 mins of entertainment, I'm going to eke every last drop out of it.

Didn't go last night but on the last thread about this I made the point that not everyone lives in Sheffield. People travel long distances to come and watch us and it's not a case of 'five minutes'. Getting out early and beating the traffic can cut half an hour off a journey, which makes a difference if you've got a minimum two hour drive.

Then there are those with baby sitters etc. you try getting one when you've got a reputation for staying out til after 11.00 on a school night.

There were probably a few on nights that had to leave to go to work and a some who are on earlies doing jobs that you really shouldn't be doing without decent sleep, like driving.

People who have to get a connection to the last train home.

There a plenty of genuine reasons why people leave early.

I don't doubt that there are some that just leave anyway, even if they live in Heeley or wherever, just to get an early pint or go home for a wank, and the ones that get up but don't leave are annoying.

Blokes behind us have moaned at every game for the last six years. Any player with a bit of skill who does the slightest thing wrong faces their wrath. Last night it was hilarious, 'Clarke is a liability' they said and proceeded to moan about it all, that was after moaning about Fleck, Coutts and Duffy for 55 mins. Clarke scores, not one word of it being a well worked goal, more of a 'he used to play for W*dnesday'.
It wouldn't surprise me if they moaned at Glynn Hodges for 90 mins every week.
To make matters worse, one of the blokes brings his kids who spent the game moaning about us passing the ball to our own players and keeping possession and not launching it.

I'm all for excessive abuse of officials and opponents. It's part of the game. If I'm on the kop, then I'll use some very rude words. They've always been used on the kop and if others don't like it, tough shit, sit somewhere else.

The one that sticks in my mind was many years ago, I was quite near the front and we were playing QPR. The 'nicest man in football' Ray 'Butch' Wilkins was using his senior status in the game to continually tell the ref what he should be doing and eventually I'd had enough and shouted 'will you fucking shut up you fucking bald cunt'. Probably nowhere near some of my rants but when ever I see Wilkins on TV I think of that.
