Will Wednesday be a case of 'after the Lord mayors parade' or will it give them the confidence to go for it and get a result?
Thoughts??
Personally I don't think it will make any difference. I'm going for three nil blades

Coventry are shit, made to look good by Oxford who were appalling today. I've read people saying it was a good game, I've absolutely no idea by what measure that was a good game.

I think you answered your own question there, Ken. Whether Coventry really go for it or not, we are miles better than they are and they'll be lucky if they don't get a thumping.

Oxford were rubbish today and Coventry deserved to beat them, but that means nowt. We are a different beast altogether. I expect us to batter them.

Won last 3 on the spin so not to be taken lightly. Typical sort of team that would previously give us problems and an upset. Any sort of win here and I'm happy because we then go down to 5 games and minimum 6 points ahead of Bolton. When it's more points ahead than games left, I start to feel more comfortable. Having led the league for this long I want to get over the line as Champions.

Either way, it won't be a doddle - they won their last two before today. Just got to do the business & win, nowt else matters.

A scruffy goal going in off Billy's sphincter or whatever'll be fine. So will Jack O'Connell taking on the McEveley role for a couple of minutes & wiping out their most skilful player just for a laugh.

Think we'll beat them easy, the bigger question is wether oxford can beat fleetwood

Be happy with a 1 - 0 win . Depends how much Oxford want that 6th spot . Bear in mind they won 5-1 last time out . Losing at Wembley in that tin pot cup won't affect them . Looked like they weren't that bothered and had other things are there mind. Let's hope it was beating Fleetwood .

They will have put an awful lot into today and will be physically exhausted. Come 72 hours later when the adrenaline has died and they face a fit and refreshed table topping swanky blades with a chance to cap promotion on the night I think it could be a step too far. I've a feeling we could maul them second half as they wilt

Note that both Oxford and Coventry had a couple of decent results before they're Wembley appearance........ playing for a Wembley place perhaps? Think normal service will be resumed on weds

Previously mentioned but I'm more interested in how Oxford respond v Fleetwood on Wednesday. Let's hope they bounce back from that because if they do then promotion looks assured for us this week. There's no way we won't beat Coventry.

Its the worst result we could have had boosting Coventry and demoralising Oxford it makes it a much more even game for oxford with fleetwood. It also makes coventry a confident team rolling into BDTBL. I still feel it can happen Wednesday but im more concerned now than at 1pm today

Coventry will be still be suffering the excesses of celebrating their win today when we get to play them. This will only accentuate the already huge gulf in class between us and them.

Yeah, could well be the case (hope so).

I went to Wembley today to see it, mate supports Oxford. Oxford were appalling but still managed to outplay Coventry, apart from maybe 10-15 minutes at the beginning of the 2nd half.

They are bottom for a reason. But we will need to get right at them and if we can get an early goal that should bring them back to reality.

Who knows, but if the Blades ever did that - getting relegated without a fight but winning a trophy nobody will remember in five years - I'd be fucking furious.

I was hoping for extra time and penalties, so they would have been truly knackered, both physically and mentally. Did not see anything from Coventry to suggest why they are on a bit of resurgence, so a brace from Billy and can see Hanson nicking one in this game.

Wilder is no fool and will have our team in the right mindset to beat Coventry; making them aware of the potential of an upset.

We'll do our bit, I am sure.

they will go out thinking theyve hit form , we will score and it will disappear

we are due to give someone a pounding Im hoping its these scallies

then go to Northampton and do what Donny did to Grimsby

A bad thing in the context of the competition. A very well attended final will make the powers that be believe that the tournament was a success. Nowt could be further from the truth...It was a flop and a farce.

Not that we should give much of a shit. Yet another bonus of leaving this bullshit league behind is not having to partake in such a tinpot tournament.

10/1 for a Coventry win - my moneys on that - it's win win whatever the result!

Unless it's a draw....hmm

A new last man standing starts tomorrow and Wednesday, I have picked the blades, no problem I think it will be a comfortable 3-0 win with a cracking atmosphere and the half bus load of Coventry fans wishing they had remembered to bring their whistles.
