We are all over the moon tonight with the 2 great results today but lets come down to earth as we the fans and the team have got to treat Coventry as if they were second in the league and take nothing for granted.
I'm not saying Boltons fans thought this is an easy 3pts against Chessie but I bet most did, like some on here are writing Coventry off and we might be celebrating promotion on Wednesday posts, nowt we can do to influence Fleetwoods results but if we approach our own game with confidence but not we've only got to turn up to win attitude then we should avoid a Fleetwood/ Bolton situation like todays. Having said all that I don't think CW will let them rest on their laurels at all.

Ok.

Am i right in saying that only Walsall in the bottom half of the table have beat us this season?

I wouldn't want to be in Coventry's shoes come Wednesday evening.

It's reminds me of the time we needed two home wins. We beat Cardif 5 1 in front of 42000 at the lane and then Watford 3 0 in front of 39000. Two of the best days of my life. For me Chris Wilder is as close to John Harris that we have ever come since. Some of you will know what I'm talking about. Tonight I feel on top of the world. We have our Might Blades back and I'm unbelievably happy.

Was thinking exactly the same. Of all the teams that Wilder would want after BOLTON drop points and the players might be relaxing a little... up pop Coventry.

Wilder doesn't need a team talk he needs Alan knill with a bag of tennis balls, a whistle and a few choice words

"Right lads, remember that shite down at Coventry on a Friday night. Alan, remind em?"

(Knill proceeds to blow the whistle and launch tennis balls at the players)

"Remember now boys? Now go and teach em a lesson. Send the fuckers down"

I don't like the sound of these might Blades, might get promoted or might not.;)

Results today should be motivation. 2nd and 3rd both dropping points to sides at the other end of the table should send home the message that you have to work hard to get three points.

With that out of the way, if I'm not going to enjoy football now, when will I ever get the opportunity?

It's about time we had a riot of goals to rekindle Edinblade's memories .
The sign of great teams is that they never ease up, even when winning. These could be a great team.

Coventry and their awful, fickle supporters are very much focused on tomorrow's game rather than Weds. Extra time tomorrow would be an added bonus although that may also affect Oxford who play Fleetwood on Weds.

Whatever happens tomorrow, I'd hope the combo of their tired legs from 90/120 mins on Wembley's turf and Utd being fresh after >1 week will mean only 1 thing.

They were great times, the Cardiff game was crucial as we were neck and neck and there were only a couple of games left in that season. The ground was packed, even round to the cricket pavilion,5-1 unbelievable night,do you remember the Gil Reece volley, what a goal that was !! I remember the Watford game played in glorious sunshine, the win secured promotion....

I remember it well, the Cardiff game was a Thursday night if I remember rightly. My dad took me & we were in the top of the old cricket pavilion miles from the pitch, but a great view. The weather for the Watford game was absolutely boiling, like playing in Spain. I think Stewart Scullion played for them, & we bought him a few weeks later. I was about 8 at the time, happy days! Not sure if the old man can still remember it, but at 94 & surviving running up beach on D Day, we're just happy that he is still with us.

Agree, on the verge of promotion and several threads started on how we can fuck it up, ffs, wish they would just go and get laid or take some happy pills. Some twats know how to kill the mood.

Tuesday 27th April 1971

What a night that was 43,000 in the lane (officially) many suspect there were more than that. The kop was that packed that up top behind the goal it was hard to breathe, at half time me and the mates moved out of the mob to the side where the crush wasn't so bad.
Happy days.

Take it from someone who knows, after watching United for 58 years, you can smell a team that will succeed or fail as clearly as a Balti pie or a pint of Wards. This current team and manager will win the league, there is no doubt, just relax and enjoy the ride.

This time of the year form and league position go out of the window. You get a lot of weird results.

The league position of both teams in April speaks volumes. Coventry have improved their form of late, but it's nowhere near our standard. It would have to very weird indeed, but anything other than a win is not luck or fate, it's one or other of the management/teams failing to prepare and execute and adjust their plans.

And I just don't see that happening with our manager and our team.

Yep Scullion hit the bar before we scored.

We have the best team in this league by a country mile and come the end of the season will be promoted as such.

Cov will be fighting for their lives. They will also be very nervous, more than if they had nothing to play for. My instincts, conditioned by year's of supporting United, make me expect a draw and our agony to dragged out a bit longer, with a few panicky posts about how we're going to blow it.
But we really should have too much for them.
