Any good ? Wasn't there tonight but I think we need to be signing championship proven players for next season not first division ones. Did they do anything to suggest they are either championship level or better than what we have ?

Hell no. Webster looks fat and doesn't look very mobile whatsoever. Didn't see anything of Gregory apart from his miss (i think it was him) when he was 1 on 1 with Moore and then started saying he was injured afterwards. I'd take neither of them

I thought Webster looked good and would be an asset, decent on the ball and huge! Gregory looked lively but no service for most of the night - no one would have looked at Sharp tonight and said he was good enough for the championship.

Shame about Gregory, as apparently we have a deal in place to him in the summer.

Neither for me in the Championship.

Gregory scored around 10 last season in fairness but he never particularly impresses me when I see him play. Maybe missed on purpose tonight ;)

Neither that young either, Webster especially.

That said I trust this management team with recruitment more than any for a long time.

I hop

I hope that's not the case, despite him being a Blade, as I really can't see him doing much a level higher. I think we are gonna need some pace down the middle and if the reported fee for Gregory is well over a million that would be better spent on a fast, tricky centre forward.

Webster looked fairly composed and won a few headers.

Gregory had a game similar to Sharp; barely noticeable.

Difficult for either to look anything special in a lethargic Millwall side.

I'd take Webster. I reckon he could be a slightly more assured replacement for EEL when his loan ends.

I've also heard that we've lined up Gregory. On tonight's showing we need better but we shouldn't judge on one game.

Gregory did well considering the lack of service to him, other than the very good chance he missed of course.

He ran his socks off and looked a better all round player than Billy on tonight's performance. Luckily, players don't get signed on one performance as you could tell he was trying his knackers off against the team he supports. This would have had an impact on his performance, no doubt about it.

He could be an asset in a better side, one like ours as it stands, he's an interesting player.

Because Sharp isn't good enough for the Championship.

Webster looked solid enough. Gregory did nothing of any note this evening. Morrisson showed him up when he came on.

My point was you couldn't make a judgement based on one performance - open to debate about Sharp, I'm sure he would still get goals

I've not heard this and I asked those that would certainly know just last week

Things could have changed for all I know, its just what I heard this week.

Certainly not worth me starting a thread on that rumour like sun jihai.

I don't think Gregory is a Championship quality player.

Yeah I agree, things could've changed since I asked, I was merely pointing out that if things had been 'sorted' it must've happened recently. I'll ask again when I get chance

What did Morrison do when he came on?

I thought he was one of the reasons they didn't create nothing in the last 10 to 15 mins when they had a lot of the ball, his movement was shite and when he had the ball at his feet he looked sloppy and didn't move the ball off quick enough, he looked unfit to me.

At least he had a few shots and tried to threaten. Gregory didn't even do that. Neither were owt to shout about.

Webster was okay, if we want a cheap upgrade for Wilson then sign him up. He's a decent player but to be a regular started in the Championship he needs to be better.

Gregory was okay, depends on price for me. He is living a lot of last year. Would be a risk to sign but could see why someone would take a risk.

Did he have some shots? I must've missed the fuckers. :)

More or less agree with your last sentence but i'd like to see Gregory play with better players, I think he could offer something.

If we go up , Billy will forever be a hero in my mind for being the captain and scoring the goals which took us up. He is certainly a contributing factor to the resurgent spirit from team to Club to fans this season.
But unfortunately he is too slow for a starting eleven in the Championship. He may well stay on as a talisman , possibly even a substitute , but i don't see CW being soft-hearted enough to start him , unless the Board fail to stump-up the dosh required for at least 2 quality strikers , the understudies for whom will be Lavery & possibly Hanson if we can't keep Chapman + convert him to striker.
Goodbye McNulty , Clarke & Done. Farewell Hussey , Scougall & Reed.

I often think that Sharp won't be good enough in the Championship, he loses the ball far too often and obviously lacks pace.

He will start next season in the team though, so it's really important that we sign a quality striker to go alongside him, someone who can play with him but someone who can be the main man too.

That someone is not Lee Gregory.
