So after the 'somewhat' disappointing result on Saturday we're immediately back in action tonight with the visit of Millwall. By all accounts they have been dire recently, though mostly their results have masked it. We weren't really able to express our abilities on the poor pitch at Oldham, so tonight will be a very different game. Will not be easy though against a team, at least according to the table, who are very much in contention for a play off spot and are going 'well'! We are looking to stretch our unbeaten run to 11, while Millwall are hoping to end a sequence of 4 without a win.....

But Anyway....

Any team news? :)

Lafferty an instant return you would assume?

Lavery struggling?

Done also unable to make the bench?

Perhaps a chance for Chapman tonight?

Hanson starting alongside Billy?

As we know this will be a difficult game, but also a real chance to keep the pressure on Bolton in view of their tricky games coming up (perhaps Saturday apart :) )

So hopefully a good Blades performance produces a nice 3-1 win, because you know Gregory is bound to score....

Important to get a win tonight as if we don't there is a very good chance we will loose both top spot and our goal difference advantage over Bolton who play twice before we play again, a win means a seven point gap again puts the pressure back on Bolton a little.

I would bring Bash back into the back three and drop EEL onto the bench, also I would be tempted to give Chapman a go in a free role behind Sharp and put Hanson on the bench, however I think that second option is unlikely to be taken by Wilder who seems to like Hanson judging by what he said on Sky on Sunday.

Carruthers to start for me.

Think it's Taylor made for his running at their defence.

I think it will be as close as possible to his favoured starting 11, think he will play bash in place of either eel of Wright, Freeman and Lafferty with duffy, coutts and fleck and Billy with probably Hanson, has anyone heard about lavery's scan, sorry if its been posted elsewhere

Anyone else overly nervous?
Yep.

Over thinking tonight's game to the point where I think the clocks going forward is to our advantage - it will be lighter than usual when we kick off tonight. So hopefully the players will start like they do on a Saturday which is considerably better than we usually do on Tuesday nights this season.

Haha! i did read somewhere on here that our evening home match record this season isn't great...cant back it up myself though. One thing's for sure Millwall will look to kick lumps out of us (team and fans alike probably!)

One thing's for sure. If the great Blades collapse of 2017 is going to happen, it's got to happen soon. Win this and we're pretty much home and dry for 2nd spot imo.

A draw wouldn't be a bad result, given that a run of 7 draws would almost certainly see us promoted in 2nd, though it would give Bolton a chance to overtake us. A loss would bring the doom mongers back out of the closet but even if we lose I'm convinced we will pick up the points we need for promotion. I'm hoping we can keep a clean sheet for once, but my prediction is 2-1 to the mighty Blades

Have a mate who works on Radio Millwall so follows them home and away. She says they can be brilliant or awful, nothing usually in between. Assuming they'll be fired up for a trip to BDTBL when their Play Off aspirations are in jeopardy will inspire them. When teams come at us, we usually look like conceding. On the contrary that often opens the play for our attacking formation. It's well known Gregory is admired by CW, so expect him to be wanting to impress with a possible move back up North on the cards. So expect a big scoreline.

I'm going for 3-2 to the Blades.

Speak for yourself Sharrow lad......surely you must be a tad nervy? As for me......

The way I look at it, their cup run and catch-up games are beginning to tell on Millwall. I think our lads will be fresher, will be relishing playing back on a decent pitch, and will be keen to give some payback after the away game in August. In spite of our well known ability as a club to cock things up, I think we`ll pass the legs off them and win 3-0, or 3-1.

I hope Sheffield United make a statement and win this game against Millwall . All the nerves , the anxiety , ghosts of the past , will be gone with a victory tonight

It won't really matter what Bolton , or Fleetwood in particular , do from this moment on , if United win

I feel there's a few goals in this game tonight, 4+, hopefully if this is the case the Blades get at least 3!

I'm fairly relaxed about the whole thing. I trust this team and manager to deliver for us whether win, lose or draw tonight.
Me too teams over the last 5 years would have crumbled against Oldham after they scored but we didnt good side and a good attitude this season.

I am at work now and just watching the clock to be honest, cannot wait for tonight and have a good feeling we will perform. We have to break this mid-week home match hoodoo at some point and I think the lads have had this one marked for a while.

Go and win this Blades, please!

Have we not won a home night match this season Stretch?

We lost to Walsall and Fleetwood I believe? Beat Bury with the Ebanks-Landell winner at the death and also beat Bristol when Chapman scored his header? They are the 4 I think I remember

EDIT - How the hell did I forget the Southend thrashing!

I was as nervous as hell before the Fleetwood game, just had a bad feeling about it.

Not nervous tonight, we'll win for sure.

In that case I'm revising my prediction.

Blades 1 (Hanson) Millwall 4 (Gregory 3, Ebanks Landell og)

:-)

Need a good start for sure, win the first tackle, have the first chance and get out the blocks and at them as quickly as possible. I know we've won a few games this season coming from behind but I don't think tonight would be the case if we went behind. Looking forward to this one and a night match now the nights are getting lighter.

Have we not won a home night match this season Stretch?

I know we have mate v Briz Rovers and Bury but I was referring more generally over recent seasons. Hoodoo might have been too strong a word but we normally struggle. A nice convincing win would be lovely.

In two minds whether to attend tonight because I'm just so ner

Millwall are bang average away from home.

We need to show no fear and make sure we get the first goal.

We're either going to finish 1st or 2nd, so I've no reason to be nervous.

I'll be disappointed if we aren't Champions this season and "only" finish 2nd, not really a bad position to be in!
