I would expect Hussey to come back in and Lavery with Sharp upfront.

He did indeed play on the left, but that was for 10 minutes, during wave after wave of attack, v 10 men.

I agree completely that we shouldn't re-jig formation, but don't think O'Shea is anywhere near the answer for that role.

Agree that it was an attacking substitution, more the case of getting more attack minded players on the pitch. When Done came on he went to left back, with O'Shea pushing forward.

And O'Shea, who has never played at wing back in his life, is a solid selection and not even close to a gamble.

Priceless.
Mmm. Hussey. Might be a reason Wilder dropped him from all plans within 5 minutes of seeing him incapable of ...well really incapable of anything. So a bloke who hasn't played a meaningfull game in months gets the nod over a bloke who's having an excellent season and probably dying for the chance to get a contract for next.
Priceless.

O'Shea - tallest, agile, I feel his game would be most unaffected by the pitch, most likely to score from nothing with a long shot in what could be a game of few clear openings.

Think I'd start with O'Shea with a view to bringing Duffy on early if needs be.

Not a bad shout at all, eh?

That is precisely what happened!

Why not play Lavery there then, if that's your logic? Or Carruthers?

Because they're not left backs you say? That's right, nor is O'Shea.

Lavery is an out and out striker.
Carruthers hasn't got a meaningful tackle in him.
How did O'shea get on today.
How did Done do at LWB.
After a faitly poor performance I would have thought you might have something to say about that, but if this gives you a boner crack on pal.

We lined up like this for the last 15 minutes or so until Lavery got injured. We looked our most threatening during this time.

Correct, that was rather my point. He's not a left back, and nor is O'Shea.

These things are irrelevant to my point that playing O'Shea at left back would be the move of an absolute retard.

It would be but the only retard here is the one suggesting anyone suggested playing O'Shea at left back when we don't play a left back. Or a right back.
You might reconsider whether your username is all that appropriate.

You're splitting hairs now because you know I'm right. We can discuss the subtle differences in role between a left full back, a left wing back and a left winger in another thread, it's not relevant here. Jay O'Shea has never been a left wing back (or a left back) and never will be. That's pretty well the end of the discussion really.

I'm not even convinced he's had much time as a legit out and out winger, has he? I'll admit that I'm not sure on that one, but it's not relevant anyway as we don't play with wingers.

I don't understand the reference to my username, sorry. You'll have to elaborate.
