League 1 team of the year.

Why does it matter if it's a small club? The pressure any united manager has on him from day 1 is collosal.
The days of us having a bigger budget than anyone in this league ended 4-5 years back.
If we'd just come down, fair enough people can expect us to walk the league but we weren't just in a rutt, we were declining season by season and the pressure wasn't going away.
Believe me, 20,000 turning out to see Adkins and he's rabble wasn't helping, even Wilder has said how it's one of the most pressured jobs in English football.
So no, bollocks to it. I don't even own any rose tinted specs let along wear them too often.
Wilder is the manager of the year again for me.
Spot on and just to add to that, Fleetwood's owner isn't short of a bob or two.

Let's take our Rose tinted specs off for a second here. Rosler fully deserves it if I'm being honest, he's done a fantastic job at such a small club with limited resources. Although Wilder has done an amazing job he's had it easier than Rosler imo with regards having the power to bring in the players he's wanted. I think Freeman not being in there is ridiculous though.
How limited are his resources? They have a wealthy owner and a large squad, they've signed players and used them once, like Godswill. I'm not sure Wallace has been given a game and Woolford seems to have vanished. I suspect they've got a lot more money than you'd expect.

Unless they watched him against Charlton!

Let's just say there's no way that Rosler would've done a better job than Wilder has here.

There's a good argument for Rosler to be manager of the year but they're very different jobs. The task at Fleetwood was on nowhere near the same scale as the task at United. Wilder had to completely turn the club around under a lot of pressure. There was no pressure at all at Fleetwood and it's not like they have a low budget. Everything's been going well for them for a long time, in complete contrast to what's been happening at United.

The votes are usually cast in December/January time when we hadn't asserted our total dominance on the league, so can easily see why Morris is in there.

Morris has 19 goals from Midfield, weather his season has tailed off or not, that's still very impressive and deserving of a place in the team of the year to me.

Although I understand the reasons that have been quoted, in the scheme of things it's a minor distraction.

There was only ever going to be one priority, and Chris Wilder (the real manager of the season!) has delivered in ways that few of us could have imagined.

Do we really care its probably a positive that freeman and coutts dont get a mention it stops lazy managers and coaches who dont do research throwing silly bids at our boards for our better players! Its simple we know and appreciate how good they are let the rest overlook us (even tho were hard to miss 9 points clear at the top!)

Tbh I dont think Wilder will care - his main priority is getting us promoted then winning some award. Looking at the job he has done - and his win ratio over 2016, it's a bit of a joke he isnt manager of the year though.

I'd also say Coutts and Freeman are desperately unlucky not to be in the team.

Who voted in this? The producers of the football on five tv shows (Goal Rush/Football League Show)?

Well Moore wont be in it. All he's done recently is stand about watching the game, the lazy sod!

I thought about Moore but then I had a look at the table and most importantly the goals conceded.....Oldham have a decent defensive record which make their league position surprising. They haven't conceded that many but surely the back four have contributed to this?...

Regardless the 3 clubs with the least goals conceded are Bolton, Bradford and Fleetwood.....So no real surprise to see the back four made up of these three teams.

And then the two forward lines made of the leagues leading goalscorers, with the exception of Matty Taylor who no doubt would have been in if he hadn't jumped ship to City.

Team of the season so far is the one nine points clear.

I'll reconsider my pick in eight games time.

Don't understand:

1) Why they have published this in March, not May
2) Why they voted in January
3) Why Morris, who played well for 3 months of the season, is in it
4) Why Freeman, who will get 10+ goals from RWB, is not in it

They voted early march I'm sure its done by local journos and I saw Jonathan Buchan and a few others from other teams asking fans who they'd recommend

There we go

Firstly football pundits show no respect to our players and manager in their choices of the Team of the Year. Secondly Channel 5 make very little mention of our matches and performances this season.

Think there's one thread developing here. We are still not liked by the majority.

Seemingly im in minority to many utd fans as bar Wright/OConnell for Beevers. I dont see much wrong with published League 1 team of the season. I know their as been a long irriation over uwe Roslers being manager.

As an amazing job Chris Wilder has done to do what he did to espically the changes the whole atmosphere thru the entire club from top to bottom. But i said under clough it still true if any of 21/22 L1 clubs got promotion manager would be huge congratulations. But for us it would be big not as big as others as its expected as financial gulf like Chelsea in championship. we get 26000+ for a home game. Theres some L1 teams that would be delighted with 26000 fans in a month never mind a game. Some disputing Rosler's achievements at fleetwood on his tiny budget Is footballingly narcissistic we only ones with good players. Last yr they were in relegation battle in a division they shouldn't be in. no disrespect & now he could get them into Championship ahead of big teams like Bolton Charlton Mk Dons Millwall & Coventry. Which considering 10yrs ago they came 8th in northern premier league behind Matlock Town & Witton Albion is mental. Lets say 1 of big 6 beat Leicester to Title last yr would give manager of the yr to Pelligrini no Ranieri

Although ill wait PFA team that matters more
