I agree. And for that reason, I declare us relentless and uncatchable and I welcome supporters of Bolton and Fleetwood to doff their caps in our direction.

We are to Fleetwood and Bolton, what Charlton were to us and the pigs in 2012. What Wolves were to Brentford and Rotherham in 2014. What Bristol were to Preston and MK in 2015. What Wigan were to Burton and Walsall last year.

Bolton and Fleetwood know they are fighting it out for 2nd. Dibs has been well and truly called on top spot.

I love the understated certainty dane, kind of reflects my own feeling's that it's ours to lose, which of course we're never going to do UTMB!

I almost scare myself stating so many times have my fingers been burned. But what we have is a team who play exactly the way champions of this division should play. We dominate the ball and attack teams relentlessly. That’s not going to suddenly change and as long as we do that, we will win a good share of our remaining games.

We’ve also shown we have the depth so as to not have to risk players when they have a slight injury such as Duffy and Wright last night. That means we have a healthy squad to pick from again Saturday.

they hide it well
some think bolton can win all 10 they have left as they say it will go to the last day
theres only one way that can happen logically

unless we utterly collapse

which is an even worse thing to think

Bolton can win all 10. But they almost certainly won’t.

We can collapse. But we almost certainly won’t.

Agree with all of that mate. What Wilder has achieved in less than a season is exceptional, long gone is the turgid style of football created by Adkins, to be replaced by a team whose appetite to progress and move forward is there for all to see. We're not perfect, but we do have quality, and we're without a shadow the standout team in this division this season.

I do understand any possible reluctance you have to comment so positively, but there's a momentum there that you or I would be crazy to ignore. I'll wager anyone £100 that we'll get promotion this time round, that's how sure I am of this team's desire to become a Championship team next season.

Just to confirm the above, that wager is on offer until 5pm Friday 17th March.

It will go to the last day, and it will be a three way between us Bolton and Fleetwood with the loser suffering the play offs

Trust me on this.........it will
It is written in the football by laws

"Sheffield United will not allow their fans too much enjoyment, relaxation or time to gloat without being dealt a swift kick or two in the bollocks when it really matters"

Scunthorpe fan here

You will be champions for sure, recruited well in January. strong bench and starting 11 You play very good football
How come you lot seem so negative about your chances of going up.

You've not met the footballing gods yet have you? We think that this year they have got the SUFC's mixed up. Don't tell them.

Always like a bet. I would have taken this on were it not for the fact that last night's result screwed up my points calculation which now sees us joint top with 87 points. I'll get back to you.

slow first 15 minutes
Against poor opposition
But then
Wow this is really Sheffield United
Centre halves rampaging
Everything to Fleck
Then Coutts
Then bang we are flying
perseverance for the first
Class move for the 2nd
O'Shea playing as if he has Be in all season
Another goal for Freeman

I fuckin love this team !
i started believing in around week five when that new guy Paul Coutts turned up.. replacing that really crap guy called Paul Coutts

we arent all negative
some of us can see it
some have trauma issues over past failures, and refuse to let go till its confirmed thats all

they cant get past the bit this is not those teams

And just when I thought my love for Paul Coutts (Mk II) couldn't get any greater..he only goes and steps up to take the penalty!
Actually that's nonsense I could have greater love for him if I didn't have to keep a big chunk back for John bl@@dy Fleck.
It's a problem.. As far as the Blades are concerned I simply don't have enough love to go round these days....Wilder out :p

This is true. The scars run deep. Over 55 bloody years of it. I remember when we went up relying on Burnley or Hull, I think in the old 3rd Division. I remember all the failures from fading away, getting pipped, getting cheated, playing the wrong team or twists of fate such as penalties for intent, Welsh hotel rooms and strange goalkeeping. I also remember the Woodward Reece Currie Hockey promotion masterminded by John (off white cardy) Harris, the Basset, let's just storm the bastards promotion year, the Warnock "Ships, just knock em about promotion" and the amazing resurrection from Division 4.

I have had those positive feelings many many years ago. With Harris, Porterfield, Basset, Warnock I knew we would go up. Everything pointed to having the team and the absolute will to win. The momentum was unstoppable. I don't want to tempt fate but this is similar, but please don't slag us old timers off for negativity because we have also seen too many false dawns and faded hopes.

been there seen it done it
best team against its peers Ive ever seen
obviously not top division standard
but against who we play far and away the best weve ever produced
winning with composure style and fitness
if there were glimpses of past failures , Id be worried
but no hint of folding has even looked possible

bear in mind if you want to bet on us blowing it, you can get 100/1 with Skybet so I wouldn't take the offer of a presumably evens bet.

Forgive my maths but we only have to lose 2 games ie bradford and millwall and its all game on again to avoid the play offs. I dont see us losing both! But this is far from done I dont fancy going to improving oldham on their mudpuddle pitch. If this goes down to chessie then we all know whats happening I darent even type it!

This only comes into play if the others win every game left ................................. they won't
