At this stage of the season in 1993 Bolton were 7 points behind second placed Port Vale with a game in hand. Port Vale averaged 2 points per game for the remainder of the season ending with 89 points but finished 3rd behind Bolton with 90 points and Stoke with 93.
With only a few games to go you cannot rule out teams getting well above 2 points per game.
Maths not your strong point?if any of the chasers achieve champion form ie 2 points per game.. they'll end up around 84 points.. therefore we need to win 6 games which is all our home games and a couple of draws
Blades - Ten games to go 30 points
Fleetwood - Ten games to go 30 points
Bolton - Eleven games to go 33 points
Blades 9 points clear of third with vastly superior GD - so Bolton need to make up 10 points in 11 matches
Blades 8 points clear of second with vastly superior GD - so Fleetwood need to make up 9 points in 10 matches
**Blades need 20 points from 30 points to win promotion
**Blades need 21 points from 30 points to win title
** this assumes Bolton and Fleetwood don't drop any points between now and the end of the season.
Realistically 25 points from either Bolton or Fleetwood during the run in would be a phenomenal achievement.
This would leave the blades only needing 15 points for automatic and 16 for the title - it's got to be our year!
NTFC fan here I would like to see u go up or crowned champions at our place think it would make wilder more than 'appeh' and he and u as fans would get a good response from us lot plus personally I would be on the pitch with u reliving last years amazing season. All the best and good luckBlades - Ten games to go 30 points

You seem to be forgetting Wednesday in 2011/12 - 3 defeats in a row followed by 11 wins and 3 draws1993??? heh.. good effort.. but scraping the barrel a bit there mate .. we'll see. none of the contenders are exactly tearing it up are they? in fact we seem to be the form team
heh.. the pessimism knows no bounds eh?You seem to be forgetting Wednesday in 2011/12 - 3 defeats in a row followed by 11 wins and 3 draws
throwaway comment.. it depends how you define ' a couple'.. we'll need around 22 points i reckonMaths not your strong point?![]()

22 points would put us on 94 points. If we get that we will piss the leaguethrowaway comment.. it depends how you define ' a couple'.. we'll need around 22 points i reckon

http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/division-two/1992-1993/table/1993-03-30
they were 11 points behind stoke , and didn't overtake the top club
we are in stokes position , not port vales
entirely bogus comparison
if anything it shows how stong our position is , Stoke won the league from being in the same position we are
thanks for posting this season , more convinced than ever we will win the league now
for port vale then enter fleetwood now
and compared to 1993 this bolton team sucks
cant see us getting less than 95 with games we have leftStoke ended up with 93 points - if we get 93 points or even 90 we will go up. 85 maybe enough but from certain.
I'm saying cov gameBlades - Ten games to go 30 points

Where's the feckin graph? If we average 1 point per game for the remaining 9 games it puts us on 84.
Fleetwood would then need 1.9ppg to beat us to top, and Bolton 1.8ppg
If we win one and average 1ppg over the remaining 8 we're on 86, leaving Bolton needing 2ppg and Fleetwood 2.1
If we win two then average 1ppg for the remaining 7 we finish on 88 meaning Bolton need 2.2ppg and Fleetwood 2.3ppg.
In summary, this is looking good.
I'm getting quite excited.
Where's the feckin graph?
Just looking at run ins and both Bolton and Fleetwood have easy fixtures apart from Peterborough and milwall
Miserable though it might sound I don't think we can rely on Bolton or Fleetwood to drop points.Fleetwood are 8 points behind and can get 27 points. Statistically, they are the third placed team because of BWFC's game in hand. If they win every game, we'd need 20 points to guarantee promotion.
Bolton are 9 points behind but can get 30 points; this means they can get further in front of us than Fleetwood. If they win every game, we need 22 points for the title.
Magic Number = 20/22 points won in 9 games but this reduces every time Fleetwood or Bolton drop points.
Earliest we can win promotion = Coventry (h)
Earliest we can win title = Northampton (a)
Na at sixfields against us ntfc boys just for wilders home coming. Well done people cw deserves it,ntfc legend for ever in our debt good luck and all the bestSTILL THINK WE WILL CLINCH THE TITLE AGAINST BRADFORD
Miserable though it might sound I don't think we can rely on Bolton or Fleetwood to drop points.
Neither of them have any games they would worry about.
Anyone thinking that we could win promotion with 85 pts should have a word with themselves.
(Not that I'd complain if it actually happened)
its hard for us , bogey teamI still think it will take 94-95 points.
Fleetwood are still in good form, winning at Walsall is as hard as it gets, and fucking Bolton have found goal scoring form from nowhere.
