I want that title

That's illustrious company.
If you're being dismissive it isn't a bad achievement. All the other three clubs are historical traditional clubs with proud history's.

Yes it's a shame we've sunk low enough to win the the lower divisions if it happens, but shit happens and we're not unique in that. It's not bad company to be in as far as I'm concerned and I would love us to do it.

For once let's go us up as the best side in the league, though shit league as it is. Let's not be bridesmaids this time.

Some should have a little more faith in CW & AK.

.Winning the title has been obvious for a while - that's another small piece of history.

We are of course saving our play off problems for the division above - CW will see to that for us.

UTB

The only people who know who have won all the titles are those that have done it and those that are about to do it. Nobody else cares.

Don't expect anybody to care. But I love football and I respect what other clubs have achieved in their history, it's what makes footy great and why some clubs are a more attractive proposition than others.

Bolton for example are a more attractive match to me than say Gillingham. In the same way we are a more attractive opponent to other clubs than say MK Dons.

Winning this league this year would be an achievement of sorts and joining a small select band of historical traditional clubs who have all achieved the same thing would be a good thing.

I don't understand anyone who would shrug off winning the division. I won't remember it's the third tier when I've had one more celebratory pint that I should.

Similar to someone above, I'm turning thirty soon and I've never seen us win anything. I'll go mental if I finally get to see it.

85 points and this is over.. we just have to win the home games

I agree 4 wins & a draw & we are there! Does anyone see us losing 5 times more before the season ends?

Fleetwood would need to win 7 from 10 to get to 85 Highly Unlikely
Bolton would need to win 7 & draw 1 from 11 to get 85 Highly Unlikely
Bradford would need to win 7 and draw 2 from 9 to get 85 Impossible
Scunthorpe would need to win 8 from 9 to get 85 Impossible
Millwall would need to win 9 from 11 to get 85 Impossible

I can't disagree with the sentiment but consider this: At the wrong side of 30 years old, and an attendee at Bramall Lane for as long as I can remember, I have never seen Sheffield United win anything.
It hurts to think that we have been second best for so long. Todays results played into our hands. The home crowd against Charlton should be phenomenal. We've 10 matches to go... surely this time.. Id stake my wife on it!!

Ive been supporting the red n white wizards since 1980 and apart from the odd league title (thank you Mr Edwards) they've not been up to much. In fact in the 90's I got so despondent I stopped going to the the lane. Lately Ive been a regular on the Kop and certainly this season Ive seen a positive vibe. We are going up, that's a certainty. We have the biggest crowd outside the premier league, that's a certainty. We have Billy Sharp... that's a certainty.... Come on you rednwhitewizards... don't screw this one up!!! UTB!!

I desperately want us to win the title and frankly I'll be gutted if we finish second. Finishing anywhere but as Champions will feel like an anticlimax as we will only be the second best team in the league.
I want us to say goodbye in style and with a trophy. I think Wilder will deliver on that.

Biggest crowd outside the Prem?
Really?
Try looking at Newcastles crowds just for starters. No Pigonomics on here thanks.

Honestly, I don't see winning League One as any kind of honour. I couldn't name any past winners, and I doubt many others could either. We should be ashamed of being in this shithole of a league, not celebrating winning more games than the others in it. All I want is out, whether that's in first, second or sneaking through the back door of the playoffs.
If you remind yourself that it's a meaningless title, it's a lot easier.
If winning the 3rd division title is meaningless then what does that make winning the 4th division title that everyone on here of a previous generation to me talks about as though it's our greatest ever moment?

I don't care if it's only the 3rd division, I've never seen us win anything, I want the title, I want to see Billy Sharp lifting that trophy.

Totally agree, a born and bred Blade lifting the trophy for our club, managed by a born and bred Blade, I want to see that as well.

I'd like us to win the title but if we don't and go up in second I wouldn't give it a thought

If we don't go up at all it would be the last thing on my mind

All about prioritys

Supping my morning brew and casting an eye over the forum I see talk of 'second will do'.

I can't disagree with the sentiment but consider this: At the wrong side of 30 years old, and an attendee at Bramall Lane for as long as I can remember, I have never seen Sheffield United win anything.

I saw Chris Morgan lift some made up dinner plate we got for finishing second in the championship.

I also have a photo with TC stood next to The Steel City Cup which was traded betwix us and them for a while in the mid 90's (do we still do that?)

You all know the close but no cigar stories. Safe to say none of us got into this for the glory but something would be nice. A story to tell the grandkids that doesn't start with 'let me tell you about that time we came close...' I've enough of them to write a book.

So... No second place please United. Foot down and get that title because there's a generation that have grown up, had kids of their own and are going grey at a rate of nots without even a sniff of a trophy.

Its time to change that.

Agreed this is the attitude need to guarantee the primary objective promotion as soon as possible.
I do enjoy stress and for fuck sake these have given me more than any man should take . Full throttle forward let's get this done asap.
