Under consideration for selection at the Swindon game next week

But, having suffered no ill-effects following Monday’s run-out for United’s under-23’s, assistant manager Alan Knill last night confirmed Chapman is being considered for selection at the County Ground.

“Obviously he gives us something different, he’s very talented and takes people out of the game because he’s a very good runner with the ball,” Knill said. “He’s worked hard up there, is back quicker than we expected and, I’ve got to say, he looks very lean.

“He played for an hour in the under-23’s game and everybody told us he looked really good. He needed that game to come back into contention.”

He'd probably take Done's place on the bench for me. Brings a trick or two and that ability to beat a man when we're struggling to break opponents down.

Last 20-30 mins he'd be ideal, like Lavery and Carruthers.

Bags of pace and can definitely finish. My guess is that he's absolutely raring to get a chance.

Could also be playing for a permanent move to the lane if we go up, which would be an exciting prospect, but that would be in boros hands

Been looking forward to him getting back, offers what I don't think anyone else in the squad does. I would seriously consider going for a permanent transfer with him too

Hope he picks up where he left off. And if so I'd prioritise trying to sign him for next year.

Contract offer at the end of the season? be daft not to, and he'd get more football with us than at Boro

Don't think signing him permanently is a possibility. A club like Boro won't let a prospect like him leave like that. He's very highly rated.

He's going to be a great option to have and give us an incredibly strong bench.

But we look like we'd be comfortably promoted without him - and Riley and O'Shea for that matter. I certainly wouldn't have expected that.

Heard on the grapevine we'd be looking at him permanently if we go up/Boro stay up.

In an article the other week Wilder (or it might've been Knill) were discussing Riley and the fact that his arrival here was with a view to keeping him. They said it was the same situation with Chapman, though I assumed it meant another loan.

Good replacement for Duffy if required later in games, his pace is awesome, always seems to rip opposition teams to bits later in games, always makes a huge impact in my opinion!

IMO Lavery has earned a start and Hanson should be the impact "Plan B" sub. Lavery gives us pace.amongst other things since we have none of since Done was dropped/considered surplus. I think Lavery has the ability to be our best striker as Billy gets older.

IIRC Arsenal were looking at him a couple of years back and he is very highly rated at Boro, so we'd do very well to get him.

If they come down they may want him back (young, hungry and relatively cheap wages) but if they stay up, they will feel the need to 'consolidate' (i.e. buy some expensive foreigners) so we might stand more chance.

He scored a great headed goal to win us the home game against Bristol. I just watched it back and there was some good build up play that lead to his chance.

It would be good if we could hang on to him.

I'd forgotten just how bad that elbow was after the goal. You'd get jail time if you did that one the street

Would be a potentially fantastic permanent signing in the summer if we could snare him. Not sure Boro will allow it though.

With the extortionate amount of money Boro nicked off the pigs for Reach, I'd be worried that any fee they want will top £10m

 :D

Chapman took a hard tackle on his ankle but ran it off. Looked a talented lad for the best of the first half.
