What happened? Seemed to always make the bench first half of the season, even winning over wilder with some very good displays. Now can't get into the match day 18, is he injured?

He's shit. End of thread

Nah, he isn't. He was quality in Clough's first season and 5 goals this season from limited appearances suggests he is far from shit.

His physical limitations will always work against him unfortunately but by God he has the heart of a bull and on his day will change a game.

Agreed . He's been a decent little player for us over the time he's been here . But when you look at our replacements on the bench who offer similar roles/positions ..... lavary/carruthers/oshea ...... is anyone really surprised he doesn't feature ?

Good luck and best wishes to him .

Nice lad, talented but limited physically.

Sadly Scoogs is down the pecking order.

I have to agree with the opinion that he is shit.

I also lost a lot of respect for him when he slagged off Adkins in the press.

Just do your talking on the pitch!

Not shit....but too often his final ball is poor, or he undoes some good work by losing possession.

Not good enough for a promotion side and nowhere near as good as those ahead of him. I'm sure he will have a few takers in the somer

He'll be a decent pick up for someone like Clough.

I'd be amazed if they don't cash in on Jackson Irvine and we know Clough's propensity to add a couple when one leaves.

There's a decent team player in there. Our first XI has just moved on.

One of those with an extension trigger in his deal. Wilder obviously doesn't want to trigger it, and has brough in Carruthers and O'shea in his position. Chapman and Brooks could also play there.

Pretty much everyone on here slagged Adkins off, too. Maybe he had a point?

We're fans! ffs!

Why did no other player feel the need to slag him off in the press? Maybe because they're professionals?

Scougall can't get in the team now, maybe Adkins was actually right to not pick him? Or is Wilder getting this one wrong as well?

Scougalls had his time and I wish him well wherever he goes after his contract at the Lane finishes.

A tryer but not physically strong enough I'm afraid. Sometimes as well, his passing looked like he had been on the LSD.

I like Scougall. Yes he's struggling to get in a very classy midfield at the moment- but I like seeing him part of the squad, even if its just cameo appearance.
Incidentally, someone mentioned Scoogs wasn't in the squad- but walking round to the car last night ( after having to walk completely round the stadium- borrowed SYP's wall?), Scougall was carrying kit onto the team coach. Looked pretty chilled and happy, ....and about 15 years old!

IMO Scougall flatters to deceive - he runs around a lot but actually creates very little, doesn't score enough, isn't physically strong enough, goes missing in games for long periods but ultimately isn't good enough and is miles away from Champ level. Duffy, Carruthers and O'Shea are miles ahead of him.

Difficult to gauge his level as he'll struggle against bigger, stronger players no matter where he goes to next but I'd have thought lower L1/L2 or Scottish Champ/L1 is his most likely destination in summer.

He is apparently very close to playing the number of games required to trigger a contract extension, which may also be a factor in why he's not even getting anywhere near the 18 if CW has decided it would be best if he moved on.

You think everybodys shit to be fair ,so your opinion counts for fuck all really. Scougalls a good footballer but just lacks strength at this level ,he wold have got into some Utd teams in the past but there are stronger players in front of him now. He was right about Adkins and it needed sayong.

He always puts in a shift when he plays with the Under 23s I'm happy when I see his name on the team sheet

He's a League 2 player at best, Scotland is probably his best hope for continuing his career.

His first touch is awful, his composure and awareness are worse, counter attacks often break down when he gets the ball.

He puts the graft in, that's not in question. But that is his main attribute. Simply not good enough.

Why did it need saying? Adkins is history, what did it achieve other than giving Scougall an excuse for not playing last season? Like I say, do your talking on the pitch, show us all how wrong Adkins was, but he's not getting in the team and has only been a bit part player for the first half of the season, so maybe Adkins was right about this one?

If my opinion counts for fuck all, why did you bother even replying to me?

His touch can be great - he always tries to take the ball on the half turn which is a real skill. But he's a little fella who gets clogged a lot, and unless he's on top form his game gets nullified.

Plus I think he can only play in Duffy's spot, which gives him few chances. Still think he could flourish in the right circumstances, but they're rare...

He spoke out about the way he was treated, not so much about Adkins, he is a good little player with heart and soul but we have options that are physically and ability wise ahead of him, a club moving the right direction.

Adkins is becoming the new David Icke, and the way he managed both us and reading will mean in a footballing sense is CV is now not worth a lot even with the promotions on it, I cant see him managing any time soon unless Scunthorpe take him back for old times sake.

He's alright in a counter attacking side at this level. Anything possession based and he might as well not be there.

He'll go back to Scotland.

I remember seeing him posing with a twelve(ish) year old fan for a photo in the platinum suite a couple of seasons ago. It was quite amusing since Scougall looked younger than the child he was having his photo with!
