Dunno how reliable.... but had a whisper that both will be concluded today.

This will be good if true, cant wait....................

That's my working day gone to pot then :D

Let's just hope it is the + Cotterill,

No offence to Henderson, and I do think he is a "united" type of player, I just don't believe we need another striker.

I think we do, Beattie is injured, we only have Stead, Sharp and Webber.

Competition for places is healthy

We're assuming Beattie is injured.

We also do have Shelton too.

Even if we only had 3, this wouldn't be too much of an issue.

Too risky with 3, only takes one of them to pick up a knock.

Then you have 2..... with a loan window available until end of October if I remember correctly?

I see no reason to bring in another striker.

Cotterill good good.

I agree with Robbie we do not need Henderson. Signing Henderson for the same price we signed Hulse is stupid plus Henderson will be in the same boat Hulse was in. We cant garentee Henderson 1st team football either and I am sure thats 1 of the reasons he wanted to leave Watford anyway.

Even without Shelton 3 Strikers is enough and if it does become a problem we do have loan market to use.

So we've got as many goalkeepers as strikers? Not wise in TAs eyes.

If need be play Bennett upfront if we get that desperate. :)

i just had a hunch earlier that we would have a tripple signing today, Bisewar, Henderson, and Cotterill, just as a woke up, very strange, and it will be even more strange if it comes off :D

We should have gone for Phillips or Earnshaw in my opinion.
PRAISE THE LORD

Someone with some sense. Whilst I don't think we need strikers, these would be an improvement on what we have and would be welcome additions.

Earnshaw we missed the boat on

Please tell me that you agree in jest!

Earnshaw is no where near the striker that henderson is.

Earnshaw couldnt hit a sheeps arse with the broad side of his cock.

Phillips we should have been in there for but i was dreading signing earnshaw

Hope Coterill is true, as it will show that if we do sign Henderson we won't just go back to lumping it up to a big man all the time we will have some width and try and put crosses in for a big target man to score.

Hope we sign them both! Cotterill was class for us last season sepcially against pigs:D And Henderson will be a decent player, he's a big fker!

We should have gone for Phillips...

A team in South Yorkshire had a bid accepted for Phillips, he decided it was the wrong location etc.

Earnshaws goal scoring record is better than any of Uniteds current team (Billy Sharp excluded)

Earnshaw would of been a great addition he scores for fun in the championship given the right service, with him and BT up front we would of beaten Wednesday 10-0

By that reasoning we should sign Ian Rush and John Barnes.

He's useless, Robbie - utterly, utterly past it.

That, sir, is one of the funniest things I have read in quite a while.

That, sir, Coming from you (Who's comments i usually find myself rolling around with laughter) is a very well received compliment...... I thank you :D

SHEFFIELD United will re-double their efforts to sign Wigan Athletic winger David Cotterill after unveiling Darius Henderson as their third major capture of the summer.
Henderson, who agreed a £2m move from Watford earlier this week, is an integral part of the Championship club's promotion jigsaw as they prepare to mount a serious bid for the Premier League.

But despite suffering nearly three months of frustration, Kevin Blackwell remains determined to slide one of the final pieces - Cotterill - into place before August 9's televised fixture at Birmingham City.

In stark contrast to his previous dealings in the transfer market the United manager, usually loathe to reveal the names on his wanted-list, has made no secret of his desire to prise Cotterill away from the JJB Stadium and his hand has been strengthened by the Wales international's desire to return to the ground where he enjoyed an impressive spell on loan last term.

But with Wigan determined to recoup the majority of the £2m fee the 20-year-old commanded when he left Bristol City in August 2006, negotiations between all three parties have proved difficult.

United are believed to have offered around half of Wigan's initial valuation but with the resolve of Steve Bruce, Blackwell's opposite number, showing no indication of weakening, a war of attrition has developed.

The Star understands that United, who developed a cordial relationship with Bruce's board of directors during the Carlos Tevez Affair, have discussed several ways of breaking the impasse; including another loan deal.

Lee Cattermole's imminent arrival at Wigan, which appears to have increased the likelihood of former United midfielder Michael Brown being leaving Lancashire, could also represent a window of opportunity for Blackwell.

Stop dicking about and give em 2 mil already
