We got a point only because we somehow went 2-0 up at the start.
All their goals were the result of shockingly bad defending by us.

Murphy wanted to go. He made that clear. So far as I know, it wasn't a protest against the club procuring a top class pitch for him to play upon. There is no evidence, beyond your manic obsession, that his departure had anything to do with acquiring a very fine playing surface, upon which our proper footballers are playing some delightful stuff.

No, what I am saying is (and have said before) is that we have won on pitches as, and more shit than Rochdale's, this season and in the past. People (such as you) can subscribe to the fallacy as much as they want that the Desso was a sound investment and very much needed, but there is no evidence it has reduced injuries, no evidence it has improved play and no evidence it has multiple us to generate further income to the club. We failed to get promotion last season with a ridiculously inept squad and a piss poor manager, playing on the Desso. Two things have changed since then and it isn't the playing surface. And you can't explain us playing well on away pitches to further refute any of that.

We were fucking abysmal last season home and away on Desso and grass. This season with a new manager and team changes we are better, much better. What has changed? We have still managed to win away from home on cowfields just as much as we managed to lose at home on Desso. The argument is fanciful, but invalid.

Fleetwood at home this year is a great example of that, and I don't need to sit in the stands at BDTBL to see us capitulate on the Desso 0-2 to understand that either.

Feller you are no more 'average' than a ST holder or someone who doesn't go who lives next door to the ground. A Sheffield United supporter is a Blade. What is wrong with this place is that there are a coterie of people who believe that other posters views are invalid because they don't attend games. Its ridiculous. So, from what you are saying, Wilder has in place a system which is adaptable to various playing surfaces. It's evident, because we are doing better away than last season. I don't need to sit in the South Stand (or wherever) to ascertain that. Last season, we didn't have that, but we had the super-Desso, but still played shit. Do the maths and some cancelling, why don't you?

The Desso is a bauble, a luxury and a folly which has had no discernible effect on our game. Wilder and his current team (which thankfully he has managed to retain intact) has been the effect.

Whichever way you look at it and sew in the 'accounts', etc, selling a player of absolute value to the club (11 goals in the previous season and a new contract) whilst finding the cash for a new playing surface in the same twelve months stinks of shit management, especially when the outcome was a dismal 11th.
