Anyone? Silent? Darren? Pinchy? Geeeetarman?

Just 'summat off the top of your head'?
Okay.

A bit like the drivel about Murphy being sold to pay for the pitch and Duffy to follow in January?...
Okay.
Smith broke his leg against PNE at the Lane.

LOLMust have been Simon Webster at Mansfield then,an incident which paved the way for a certain cult hero to join the club
The pitch was ok actually.
It must have been , because Rochdale played some free-flowing stuff straight through us.
We got a point only because we somehow went 2-0 up at the start.
All their goals were the result of shockingly bad defending by us.
WTF was Freeman doing for the first ? Play to the whistle mate !
WTF was CW thinking of for the second ? Carruthers on for OConnell and let's try 442 ?
Soon corrected that blunder didn't he when he threw on EEL to go back to the system we know.
And WTF was the entire team doing for the third ? Defenders chasing shadows. Me & my 3 mates , all 60 years old , could have put that move together in the space we gave Rochdale.
I tell you what , CW may have been honest in his radio interview , but he will have been bouncing some home truths through the players skulls after that display.
We weren't too bad on the ball , especially Duffy , but out of possession we were very very poor.
Well, the evidence seems to fit better, doesn't it, cleverlad?
Buy pitch for £1.2m, sell Murphy for £1.5m, chuck the change at hapless manager now without a left winger to acquire Woolford and loan that other terrorizer, Connor Sammon.
Drivel. Yeah.

Well it's enhanced my viewing of the games at Bramall Lane. No, what I am saying is (and have said before) is that we have won on pitches as, and more shit than Rochdale's, this season and in the past. People (such as you) can subscribe to the fallacy as much as they want that the Desso was a sound investment and very much needed, but there is no evidence it has reduced injuries, no evidence it has improved play and no evidence it has multiple us to generate further income to the club. We failed to get promotion last season with a ridiculously inept squad and a piss poor manager, playing on the Desso. Two things have changed since then and it isn't the playing surface. And you can't explain us playing well on away pitches to further refute any of that.

But it's still McCabe's fault.Fan wishes for poorer pitch. Only in S2. I think he drinks a bit too much rum. Best not to encourage him. He used to have only one topic but has now extended his repertoire by 100%. There's only so much daftness one messageboard can take.
You are the only cause of merriment Mr resident stalker, shot yourself in the foot on this thread eh mateSo you think Simon Webster breaking his leg is a cause for merriment?
It's not anywhere near you claiming we would emulate Blackpool

Murphy wanted to go. He made that clear.
Do boats not sail better on flat, calm seas?
I note your signature now consists of three words. You have chosen well.

We have to separate maintenance and ground improvements from player salesWell, the evidence seems to fit better, doesn't it, cleverlad?

I'm surprise you aren't comparing us with ArsenalWe have to separate maintenance and ground improvements from player sales
surprised no ones said the club buys 200 balls EVERY SEASON at 100 quid apiece and thats why we had to sell Adams

well thats Adkins ability to motivate players for youIts funny to me that when Murphy was sold ... sorry, ran out of the door, there was a screech of tyres and the next thing he was ringing the Lane from the Amex ... we were one brick thick in that department. We tried everything, Adams, Done, Di Girolamo and fucking Long playing there to patch it up. Murphy would take two players to stop him advancing down the flank and could scores goals from anywhere. Yet he's gone and we couldn't stop him. Our only proven left winger and definite goal outlet. And we finished eleventh.
Drivel.

You always come up with this massive blade shit. Someone who goes to the game has clearly seen the pitch , our style of pay ,the quality of our players etc etc ,they have a far more valid argument than someone who cant be arsed and gets their view from Keith Edwards or some nerd on a forum Its a valid point and maybe that does make him a bigger Blade ,whats the problem with that. I never comment on our youth set up because Ive never seen them but listen to the views of people who do go and don't contradict them as they clearly have more idea than I have. Does that make them 'bigger blades' ? Yes but I wouldn't be childish enough to call them that to try and save face.Yay. Massive Blade Alert.
Clearly your enhanced viewing can't answer why, when playing on our super investment Desso, teams like Fleetwood and Southend (this season) and countless others like Shrewsbury last season come to the Lane to play on it and beat us.
Surely your massive Bladey Bladeness and huge super attendance record can provide me with answers to that. If not, your argument is invalid. Soz.
pommpey
You're a bit touchy. Hand on heart, I wasn't alluding to anything, other than, I have enjoyed watching games on a pitch that hasn't deteriorated during the season. No Massive Blade. I have missed my fair share of games this season and will miss more before the season ends. #AverageBladeYay. Massive Blade Alert.

Outside of that ninety-odd minutes, everything else is commentable upon.
We play a fast passing game ,that starts from Coutts and moves forward ,this is a game to be played on our pitch ,odd time it doesn't come off ,that is why we are in Div 3. On Saturday ,nothing was played through the middle by either team ,all attacks had to come down the sides (the right hand side for both teams) and this was completely due to the pitch. Our best footballers ,Coutts and fleck were non existent and the best battlers ie Basham was MOM , likewise on the Rochdale side. Our best footballers are better than their best footballers but the pitch levelled the game out.The problem is Sitwell, the claims and the data don't add up. Whether I am a season ticket holder and attend every fucking game United play or not, the claim that the Desso has improved things is completely groundless. We were fucking abysmal last season home and away on Desso and grass. This season with a new manager and team changes we are better, much better. What has changed? We have still managed to win away from home on cowfields just as much as we managed to lose at home on Desso. The argument is fanciful, but invalid.
The Youth setup has no outcome on our league position, and the data, such as the league table (which is the deliverable) isn't of any concern apart from the team manager. How well young player 'x' is doing won't get us promoted. Us retaining talent and winning games bloody well will. The pitch is irrelevant, as much as people want to get all bone hard about it. Fleetwood at home this year is a great example of that, and I don't need to sit in the stands at BDTBL to see us capitulate on the Desso 0-2 to understand that either.

There, fixed that for you.

As an aside ,I think its ridiculous that teams at this level don't take more care of their pitch and have undersoil heating. Oxford tomorrow for example ,the ground is not that old ,they obviously never planned to get any higher than where they are.
