Billy Sharp?

Look again, this sums it up perfectly. 2-0 up Billy slams in the pen and takes his deserved ovation from the Kop. Jake Wright seeks out Carruthers and gives him some advice, that's what leaders do and he is our leader no doubt. Can't recall such a low key signing making such a massive difference to the team as Jake Wright has done this season, amazing.

If we get over the line, the whole squad deserves it as it's the best TEAM we've had in my living memory.
Every single player has contributed to what's bubbling up to being a trophy season.
No one this time last season would believe how good we have become as a unit.
Credit to the chairman,CW and AK.

Nonsense Lafferty can't cross a ball, he deserves nowt. George Long is a liability and Freeman isn't a right back and don't get me started on Done's goal return and Clarke's lack of fitness.

Coutts had two bad seasons, Riley hasn't done enough, fleck wasn't even good enough for cov, Moore dropped some changers and EEL is the new nosworthy.

Sharp has shite boots, Lavery is a pig, Duffy is too nesh...

I don't think the chairman has had enough praise tbf. He's made mistakes (haven't we all) but this season he's done the biz. Fair play, he could've walked away but stuck to his guns. A CLUB effort.
Backed Wilder in the summer, backed him on the jtw and didn't sell a sausage (not the important sausages). Kudos Kev.

I like the way he has "J. M. Wright" on his shirt with the full stops and everything like a cricketer from a hundred years ago! Not noticed that before. Let himself down with the green boots though. He should wear black.

Good photo. Get to see what a fookin' big unit Hanson is..... and Bash not afraid to get dirty is he?

No to be honest, when it comes to the Blades we have not (part from not going to Villa in the cup) he's dropped more than anyone with his half knee jeen then the next time waiting too long. How many managers and how many players that we needed, sold since 2007.
We as fans and supporters have backed up Kev with a greater percentage or affordability of earnings than him.
The 19000 that have put faith in him at this level for the past 6 seasons and 10 years is way beyond what he has delivered. He has so much to make up for. We're all laughing about the illness Madine had but we weren't laughing about the illness BT had on the night of that Burnley game.

Too many contenders for me. The agony of choice....

Much as you can't take anything away from Billy's contribution this season, immense! I cannot thank CW enough for bringing back the faith. A good manager is worth more than a good squad. The club is back from the the depths of despair solely down to him and the people around him. It's actually a pleasure to see the Blades play again. How long since we could say that? We're not just doing well, but playing good football. Last Saturday was a triumph of football over rule bending, mindless thuggery, that's why we all really loved it. A mention for J.M.Wright also, is it still true when he plays we haven't lost? There's your top 3. You choose, I can't.

Ex-player of the season!?

CHRISSY WILDER!!!!!!!

It's a pretty safe bet that Tufty doesn't respond to "Chrissy"...

Quite simple.

A midfielder.

Forwards don't score without them, defences concede without them.
A good midfield is the heart of the side, so it's between Coutts and Fleck for me.

Yes Billy has scored goals, but without the platform given by midfield he wouldn't have the tally he has now.
Only other possible player outside midfield is Wright.....it can't be luck or coincidence that we haven't lost a league game with him in the side.

However....if fans vote it will be Sharp.
Players vote is always the more indicative of how it is.....that may well still go Sharps way, but I suspect Wright might be a contender.

I'd like to thank my mom, my dad, all my friends, my Botox dealer but a special mention to...

the fans! Stuck by us after 6 shit years. Bigger than four PL crowds on Saturday. Over 55k in the last 2 home games. Averaging 20,955 this season. I'm filling up...

I wonder what the "M" stands for.

Jake "Monster" Wright?

Jake "Motherfucking" Wright

Jake "Make sure I play or we fucking lose" Wright?

Wright's played a major role...but he's only played 20 out of 34 games. Sharp has played every game. It's possible Wright can win it if he doesn't miss any more games - giving him 32 - but that seems unlikely to me.

Fleck would be a decent choice too IMHO.

And Sharp is living proof that forwards can score without midfielders. He managed 21 last season with Hammond, Coutts (pre Rocket up his arse), Basham, Woolford and Flynn behind him.

They can...but without a ball into him it's very difficult. Don't recall many goals he's created himself from nothing.
Sharp may well end this season with a 50% increase in goals from last season. And that's not due to him raising his game as he's been pretty much the same, it's due to others doing their job better.

I know you dislike giving Sharp any credit, but I don't think it's a stretch to say he's having a better season this year than last, although it's not a Coutts like improvement.

It's all B's. Billy followed by Bash and Bollocks to anyone who cares to disagree.
