When it's cold Wheater wears three gloves. One on each hand, and one on his enormous chin.

He's too good for this division; with a chin like that he should be appearing at the London Palladium alongside Bruce Forsyth. How many balls do you think he's burst on the end of it?

He could also get a job here in the Freak Show tent. When I walked past it on my way back to my mum and dad's in Grenoside last night all I could think of was, "Billy Smart, Billy Smart, we've got Billy Smart." Except of course Billy Sharp was the ringmaster yesterday (but not the difference - lion-tamer John Fleck had a hand and a chair in that; oh, and a shoulder).

Rather hilariously the circus was opposite Swillsborough so I asked the guy on the pay desk if I could go into the ring and sing a little song, but he told me to fuck off. Shame, because this would have gone down really well I think:

There's a circus in the town, in the town
Jackie Charlton is the clown, is the clown
And Eric Potts and Roger Wylde too
Are the biggest monkeys in the zoo, zoo, zoo

Nice song, one for the Kids!

I've had two great days out at Horwich this season despite the results.

On both occasions we were drinking in the Barnstormers for several hours before the game and enjoyed good ale and good conversation with Bolton fans.

I'm pretty sure that their fan base mirrors ours.

Generally good people but with some right knobs and as ever, the knobs make the most noise.

Whilst being fair to Bolton , the issue of suspended/injured players and the complete fucking idiot Madine pail into insignificance compared to the loss of Clough and Ameobi. With those two in the side I'd have fancied them for automatic promotion . Without them however it looks like the Playoffs and if I was a Bolton fan I'd be more than a little bit worried about that prospect

since reading your views from roygbiv I have found I dislike more and more clubs. Thought the YouTube lad deserves credit though ( rare). Suppose all teams have there deluded idiots. Wonder how a view from this board would go down.

I think other fans doing a view from our boards would be impressed with us
If we are playing badly and get beat at least our fans are honest enough to accept it and the people who are really responsible, ie the boardroom, players and manager get it with both barrels

How many times on this board after defeats do you see our fans come out with the following petty comments

We had players injured
We played better than them
They were dirty
They were lucky
They're just a shit town in ........................

It's beyond pathetic and childish, it's just complete denial

That's the best thing about Uniteds fans, there's no denial in us whatsoever, we know who is responsible and who is to blame when things aren't going well and the people who really are responsible will be given a hard time, not our opponents

One of the worst sides ive seen at lane this term, looked comfortable from start to finish

Actually I disagree.

Bolton are a clue to the type of matches we'll get in the Championship.

Virtually every team comes to Bramall Lane knowing we have a dominating midfield and a fast slick passing game. So they know they are going to struggle, so they set up to frustrate us.
They give up the midfield because they'll lose it anyway then they concentrate on organised solid defending making sure numbers are kept back, so there's no space in their box.

Credit to Bolton, they are the first team that didn't give us this respect.
They gave it a go in the 1st half and it's been a while that we've seen a midfield contest.
Also our defenders had quite a lot to do, admittedly our goalie was almost a spectator.

Fleetwood displayed the tactics to beat us.
Rosler knew they had little chance to match us, so he focused on not conceding by packing out their penalty area So we were denied space and had to revert to crosses. Rosler knew we were small up top and their centre backs would easily deal with crosses. THEN to Roslers credit he knew our centre backs were vulnerable to quick counter attack. So although Fleetwood didn't have many attacks, they did it with pace, conviction and in numbers and their 2-0 win was no fluke. Although that weakness that Rosler detected has now been strengthened now we have the aerial strength and physicality of Hanson.

It's ironic that because Fleerwood are limited, they had no choice but to be negative and do the odd counter attack. Where as Bolton have some excellent players for league 1, so Parkinson was quite positive and gave it a go trying to match us. As expected their midfield couldn't continue closing us down and eventually our midfield took over as the 2nd half wore on.

Thought Bolton looked a strong/ solid team but their lack of creativity must worry them and their main tactic seems to be to win freekicks outside the box to try and score from a set piece.

Think Bolton will finish 3rd or 4th but should do well in the playoffs.

When it comes to gathering opposition views, Roy is the man...However I have just seen a link to this via social media and having had a very quick look on here, I haven't seen it posted therefore thought I would bring it to attention.

I personally think it is a decent enough read, very balanced, unbiased and openly honest.....Scaithing towards Madine first and foremost but refreshingly as opposed to merely pointing out how poor Bolton played, he also comments on how good we played which is always good to see from the opposition viewpoint.

(Content warning: - Please expect profound misspelling of the name of our wonderful shrine)

Decent point put across i just thought they wouldn't have scored if we still playing now,i actually thought we were better against scunthorpe. .........opinions differ but as long as the blades are flying we're all happy

Agree with much of that.

Fleetwood have been the best side I've seen at our place (or away) all season
Bolton probably come 2nd, given that the fiasco against Southend was largely of our own making
Rochdale also looked decent, even though that was also during our dodgy start, so not counting any chickens for Satdi

I thought Bolton were organised, hard working, physical and very competitive. But especially in the 2nd half they just didn't see enough of the ball to do any damage to us. 1st half we defended really well, 2nd half we didn't need to.

Another fantastic performance from the Blades

I agree we played much better against Scunthorpe.
We outclassed them in that 1st half which is extraordinary when playing the 2nd in the league (our nearest rival).

My point was Scunthorpe played like many teams this season sitting back so our defence spent a lot of time up field around the centre circle. They always had men back to make blocks and there wasn't much space for Sharp and Hanson.

Where as Bolton had a few attacks, its the busiest our defense has been for ages
But ironically Sharp and Hanson had much more space than normal.
We didn't attack as much as normal but we looked more dangerous than normal.

If we get in the Championship we will have similar games where the strikers have more space.
Doubt Championship teams will give us any respect by sitting back defending in numbers.
Will be interesting next season because our matches will be very different, in someways easier.

Bolton couldn't stop our game second half, they tried and did well in the first half. They couldn't keep it up. I was surprised how little football they played. Expected more to be honest. As soon as we started getting the ball down second half they couldn't keep up, they were getting tired and space opened up. We stretched them every time we went forward.

I'd say Rochdale were the best I've seen at ours this season. They had a go. Even though it was early season. Fleetwood played classic counter sometimes it works sometimes not. Think we were unlucky with first goal and second mistake. We were poor in last third after having 60 odd % of possession. Walsall at home was just crazy

I think some of our fans are taking Parkinsons comments to heart.
His side are faltering a bit, he's also had to sell his best player. So he's just trying to paint the picture that they were unlucky to the Bolton fans. A tactic our Mr Warnock was good at.
The penalty decision was 50/50 for me, I think he does catch Carruthers but he does go down very easily. We wouldn't be happy if it was given against us.
I actually thought Bolton weren't that bad especially the first 20min.
They did have a few injuries and suspensions, I believe they had all their recognised fullbacks out, and losing Madine who after all is their top scorer just before kick off can't have helped.
It will be interesting to see how they get on in their next two games, which are both winnable home games. They should have a couple of players back as well.
Still think they could be our biggest threat.

Disagree about Fleetwood as we gifted them both goals - mistake from Basham misplaced pass and poor covering and then the almighty fuck up between EEL and Basham leaving the ball to each other as Moore had a rush of blood as well . We were rubbish but Fleetwood werent good either until we gave them 2 goals

I've never got "Bramhall"; nobody, not even Philistines, pronounce it that way. I can understand "Brammall", especially as that was actually the original spelling of the family who gave their name to the Lane (as in the road) itself, and I still pronounce it the same way as I did when I was at school, like we all did at Greystones and High Storrs: "Brammer Lane" - not out of ignorance of course but because of lazy south Sheffield dialect.

But "Bram-Hall Lane" - gi' oo'er yer posh Lancastrian dickwads (!).
There's a place in Stockport called Bramhall so I'm never surprised when Mancs/Lancies called it Bramhall Lane.

https://ashorehamview.wordpress.com...y-sharps-importance-and-mike-deans-decisions/ My latest article, following Sheffield United Football Club impressive 2-0 win agaisnt promotion rivals Bolton Wanderers Official.

Not a bad effort but you need to work on your grammar; in particular to stop putting. Full stops in the middle of sentences.

Louis Hobbs said:
Both goals coming from club captain Billy Sharp, who struck home a right footed shot from the centre of the box into the bottom left corner, following an incredible through ball from John Fleck. Before burying a penalty kick well into the second half, after Blades substitute Samir Carruthers was fouled.

Should read
Balham Blade's corrected version said:
Both goals comingcame from club captain Billy Sharp, who struck home a right footed shot from the centre of the box into the bottom left corner following an incredible through ball from John Fleck before burying a second half penalty kick well into the second half, after Blades substitute Samir Carruthers was fouled.

Some songs for Bolton:

"They're coming for you,
They're coming for yoooooou!
They're HMRC!
They're coming for you!"

And, my favourite:

"Pay your bills,
You bankrupt twats!
Pa-ayay-ay your bills,
You bankrupt twats!"

Was talking to a family pre match who were on their supporters trust who confirmed those figures, couldn't have hoped to meet a more balanced, sensible, intelligent group. If they've got plenty more like them they'll be ok.

Unfortunately they have a complete dickhead of a chairman, an ungracious manager, a bunch of overpaid under-achieving wankers for players, and a few cowardly hooligans.
WHEN they go into administration many local businesses will be affected, their scale of financial fuckery is simply atmospheric; their LOSES alone this year dwarf even our TURNOVER!!!
An incredulous state of affairs, which shames the whole of football governance in this country.
It is high time administration should mean automatic 2 league relegation (as exists in non league football) , and they should not be allowed to keep the name Wanderers.
