It's what happens to sides when we get the ball down and play. You can see the difference in standard between Botlon and Scunthorpe and the rest of the sides we've face this season, and yet we absolutely outclassed them when we got on top of our game. Wilder's assessment spot on as usual.
 
Pen looked very much like the one Man U got against us last year. Contact but made the most of it. Still we had cert penalties turned down v Scunny and Bristol Rovers so we were owed a softer one.

Also Billy's shot went in off the inside of the post unlike Fleck and O'Shea in the above games. Fine margins but if you continually outclass teams like we do you are going to get these things in your favour more often than not.

Fine margins add up to clear differences. You get the odd 1-1 where you should've been a clear winner, but over thirty odd games of playing that way you end up 7 points clear.

We've set our standards and all we need to do is keep them at this level. Every other side needs us to drop.

Fine margins but I forgot the last time we got a penalty. We have been denied a couple in recent weeks though.
 
Never a pen but I don't care Mr Dean gave it and Billy buried it. A word of thanks to Beevers for letting the ball run under his foot for the first goal, he must have learned that during his time at the sty.

Sometimes there only needs to be slight contact. We have seen some soft as shit penalties given against us over the years.

Hanson gave Wheater and Beevers problems throughout the match.
 



I was hoping to see Fleck's Mr Miyagi demolition of that pony tailed twat. Great footballer is our Fleck, never new he was a 3rd dan in Karate.

I assumed with Mike Dean as ref it was going to be a straight red and then a yellow card to any of our players that complained.

Mike Dean today was not as bad as I thought he was going to be.
 
From where i sat it was a nailed on penalty. But highlights dont show howard dropping a clanger. Dribbing the ball for too long under pressure kicks it out for throw in & 45 secs we have a penalty. Bet parkinson has very happy afterwards

The conditions partically 15 mins before & the 1st half with the cold, strong winds & driving rain. Will hopefully answer the question i get at work. Because they always say "i dont know how you work in this" i always joke its the 18yrs prior experience of freezing my nuts off at the football. Provided great preparation for my job

I'm glad someone pointed that out. It was the most Howardy of Howard performances. His kicking was dire all game, barely clearing the halfway line; here were numerous times when he moved to claim the ball and the defender instead cleared it; he was nowhere near any of our set-pieces, and the blunder you describe directly led to the penalty, which he dived the wrong way at. Somewhere in that was the excellent point-blank reaction save from Sharp's header...

Would have been quicker, but the data connection was struggling in the increased attendance :)
