My mate won a few tickets for the exec boxes for yesterdays game. A few things you may be interested in

9. Spoke to Lavery and his family after. Really decent set of people. Lavs said the dressing room were disappointed after as we should have won. Also said they were disappointed with Bolton coming back against Bradford

A little concerned that the players are focused on the results of others, I get that this will be of interest but it should all be about what we do and what we can control.

Just reminded me of when, in Warnocks book, they apparently had sky sports on in the dressing room before that Wigan game and could see the weakened line ups other teams were putting out against our rivals. Felt like a distraction to what we should be focused on.

Looks like he's also eaten half of Scunthorpe too.

Good to see him copying a young LYDON with the strapping of the cock to the inside leg routine.

13" ?

Going back to the OP and Lavery saying how good facilities are. Alan Mcinally was reporting on our game SSN (yes I didn't go to the game due to work commitments). The first time they went to him to report he was absolutely amazed at how good our ground is, how full it was and generally how big a club we are. Just kept saying "how is this club in this league". Always nice to hear a neutral say things like that.

Isn't there always a referees assessor in the crowd

There is. He/they (there's sometimes two) sit bang in front of me. It's usually good to chat with them as they obviously love football. On Saturday, I didn't want to tell him what everybody in the ground could see - the ref. was piss-poor.

Oh, and Graham Alexander is one of those managers (like Ainsworth) who have kept their nasty, cheating, dirty habits from their playing days.

"Alan Knill in stealing sweets shocker."

They belong to the bald security bloke who mans the tunnel. There's always a bag of spice on the top of the United dugout. Used to be a box full, but cutbacks have to be made in the third division.

So that's what bumps up the administrative expenses in the accounts.

Btw, we're in Sheffield its spice not sweets.

They were very cynical. Many of the fouls given against them were for body checks and the like rather than kicks. Ref let them get away with it for far too long.

Tell him to have a word with blade too long, you can't win every game and every week teams up and down the country win, lose and draw. You shouldn't be disappointed, you should just accept the result and not dare question how the result occurred. Football is a funny old game blah blah blah......

1. Their manager was going ape shit at the 4th official from the first minute and i'm not really sure why
2.Wilder legged it down the touchline again when we scored
3. Alan Knill was eating a pack of Haribo throughout the first half and offered one to the 4th official
4.McCabe was gutted at the end. Just stood staring at the pitch for a while. Afterwards he said it wasn't a bad result but we deserved much more. Told me that "we will get there"
5. The Referee assessor was there which might have been the reason for the fussy display from the ref
6. The Ref assessor said after United played some brilliant stuff and looked a far better side
7.There was a fair few Americans there. Not sure who they were
8. The neutrals there were amazed by the attendance and also how well we played for a League One side
9. Spoke to Lavery and his family after. Really decent set of people. Lavs said the dressing room were disappointed after as we should have won. Also said they were disappointed with Bolton coming back against Bradford
10. Lavery said the facilities at United are much better than at Wednesday. Said the whole club is much more professional

Told me that "we will get there"

Shit ;)

He then muttered something about Europe in 2 years and Liverpool levels of investment, before his straightjacket was popped back on and he was led away pulling his own hair out.

Your attention to detail is admirable.

I find reading posts in their entirety helps on forums. Like using the search facility though, some on here see it as bad form :) :)

(I know you're calling me a pedant - at best - btw)

I nearly put 'You're attention to detail .....' but I know you would have sussed that out as cheap baiting.

Talking of Ian Botham.

I chatted to him at a charity do and he was signing little cricket bats for charity. He signed one for me which I thought would be a good prize for the cricket club raffle.

I wasn't paying much attention and when I examined the signature it was just a scribble, a non descript squiggle with no letters formed at all.

I gave it to the cricket club secretary and he said how can we tell if it really is his signature after all anybody could have done that!

I felt a bit of a fool. Thanks, Ian.
