Last week I posted about Lafferty's left foot being wank. But because we won, people assumed that it meant that I couldn't point it out. Well, we didn't win and guess what? His left foot is still wank.

It's a real shame that Hussey hasn't been able to step up, as his delivery is pretty good......

If you posted last week about it... why did you need to start a new thread? Why not just carry on the old one?

He's a decent left back but a poor wing back, can't cross a ball or shoot straight. Young Riley should be considered whilst we expect wing backs to bomb on.

Better team with Lafferty in starting 11 but his delivery is poor, O Shea looked a real threat in that wide position, really unlucky not to score a richly deserved winner at the death.

Surely saying a left footed players left foot is wank is pretty much calling him a wank footballer.

I think a few players were trying abit to hard yesterday, I know this might sound abit daft, but quite a few passes/crosses were slightly misplaced, as if the thought process was lost in the build up.
I agree lafferty made a few errors, but, although he had a good game, Freemans crosses weren't exactly great eather.
Most were way to hard and sailed straight over to the opposite corner. Coutts made a few mistakes also and Duffys usual inswingers were almost null n void.
The effort was clear to see but I think we over played at times and we should be cracking in more long shots, Coutts can score, but always chose the sideways or backward pass. We need to practice shooting this week Chris!!
Just my take on it.

I think the fact we have only scored 2 goals in the last 3 games and our central midfield players have created little in those games in the final third is more of a concern

Well we signed him permanently so the management team obviously feel he can make the step up to the next level.

Can't say I have been overly convinced by him.

Crossing is an area we need to improve on. Both Lafferty and Freeman have to great effect this season cut passes back when in advanced areas (Sharp probably should have scored from the chance he had in the first few minutes yesterday), but when crossing their delivery has been poor. The few highlights of Riley I saw from midweek suggests he might have some slightly better quality there (happy to cross with either foot too). From what I've seen of O'Shea so far he can whip in a pretty decent cross, but by the time he was on the pitch the main beneficiary of that delivery (Hanson) was no longer on.

Lafferty and Freeman are a massive part of where we are. have you seen the shit left backs we have had here? Lafferty is a good player doing a good job ,stop trying to find things wrong with us when it is all so right. Did you witch the last 5 minutes btw when Lafferty wasn't there ?

O'Connell was the one who came off in last 5 mins ;) J'OC is a CB and he is a better LB and LWB than Lafferty

Lemme get my book of statistics out. Might be a while
Yes I think you might. Laffertys there to stay anyway ,and Im glad of that ,hopefully Oconnell is too ,in fact all of them. we have only one squad member I don't rate.

I thought he whipped one or two good balls in yday. I remember one that he whipped in behind the defence but Sharp couldnt get near it. Crowd applauded and appreciated the effort.

And posts like this really piss me off. Do people sit there scraping the bottom of the barrel for any slight piece of negativity they can find? You said you posted last week regarding Laff's left foot, so why post again? You really that sad? Bottom line is he is part of our first team that has got us to the top of the league. Enough said. What have you done to positively contribute? He brings more to the table in terms of helping US move forward than you. He would probably see you as a 'wank' fan that offers nothing.

UTB!

you do realise this is a forum, and forums are for people to post their opinions? if you don't understand what a forum is, then why are you on it? if you don't accept other people's views, then good luck to you.

JOC can certainly get forward and can put a cross in, plus he has the muscle to stay on the ball and not get knocked off.

My biggest concern is that when he is high up the field, if the opposition counter and break, we are exposed at the back.

you really do need to face reality, how can everyone pretend that our team is perfect? it's not perfect, and just like everyone else on the forum, they are voicing their opinions on wilder's substitution decisions for example. wilder has done absolute miracles for us, i trust wilder, im not commenting on that guy's post and saying "you are a sad person for believing that wilder's decision wasn't good enough for us" when in reality - he probably made a mistake. if im sad for voicing my own opinion on a professional football player's left foot which i deem to not be good, then what does this make you for slating me for voicing my opinion on a forum?
