You can't really complain too much about the performance but credit to you for trying!
A tinge of annoyance we didnt get the winner. A tinge. Thats all.
We played with swagger, sophistication, desire and no shortage of fight and as long as thats there then I can take a draw - or even a loss - on the chin.
Frustrating not to win but given the lack of pace and mobility of the front two and on the wide positions it's hardly surprising we only score one chance out of twenty
I thought we played some fantastic football today , I thoroughly enjoyed watching it but there is no way that either of those front players are championship standard
The service from out wide was abysmal also
But we should have been 4-0 before they even got sight of our goal
if we win 4-0 theres room for improvementSo you were completely satisfied with the performance today? There was no room for improvement at all?
we are top playing very well and have a great squad and some nice easier games coming up , enough to take us upCan you please have a word with blade_too_long - he's more than happy.

I thought the first half was the most one-sided I've ever seen but most of the chances fell to Duffy who lacked composureCan you please have a word with blade_too_long - he's more than happy.

whats not to like
The reaction on the radio seems to be that we have to be happy because we played well (one of the best performances in years apparently!) and haven't lost any ground.
But for me that's utter bollocks. We were always going to dominate this game. We didn't win. That's what counts. We've wasted a great opportunity to create a big gap between both Scunny and Bolton (who were never likely to win today). And now more pressure is on the Bolton game than there should be.
I think some people will overestimate Scunthorpe and get swept up in the once in a blue moon decent atmosphere and claim it was a great performance. It wasn't, it was good but nothing special by our standards this season.
Today just showed what we should already know, we're a much better team than Scunthorpe.
The referee was an utter, utter cunt. He needs to learn how to use his watch. He failed to add on the right amount of time in either half, and he was himself responsible for a lot of the petty stoppages. He was infuriating and played a massive part in getting Scunthorpe a point.
Scunny scored with the very first chance they had but they're always snidey little bastards so that's only to be expected really. They're a very basic team with little to offer other than kicking the opposition. They're lucky they've got Murray Wallace at the back.
Ultimately though we've once again struggled against 10 men. I'm sick of it. We generally struggle far more than we should do at home and for this reason we'll make a meal of promotion when it should be a formality.
I don't know what took Wilder so long to make a change. Worst of all taking 83 minutes to bring on somebody different out wide. We've got great subs to bring on but didn't make good use of them. He got it spot on last week but he didn't today. Should have done all he could to make sure we weren't chasing a goal in the last 5/10 minutes, but once again that was the position we found ourselves in at home.
Can't really complain too much about the performance but above anything today was yet another infuriating and typical missed opportunity due mainly to a wanker of a referee and extremely lucky opponents.
Agree with that Scunthorpe made more of a game of it in 2nd half ,going down to 10 men galvanised them but on that 90 mins we would have won 9 times out of ten.I disagree with Ricky. We'll finish above Scunthorpe because we are better than them. We made lots of chances when we had our original eleven on the pitch and I see no point in taking players off when they are doing a good job. We absolutely battered them in the first half and should have been 2-0 or 3-0 ahead at half time.
Let's not forget also that Scunthorpe are the second best team in this division. They were lucky to be still in the game at half time but they played bravely and well in the second, especially when down to ten men so they played a major part in us not winning.
It was a belting game and we are still top by 5 points. We have the best squad in the division by miles. Everything is OK, I promise!
I didn't think we quite did enough in the second half when they went down to ten men but I put that down to the effort and great first half perfromance.
Still, if they are second place in the league, what do we have to worry about?
I thought the first half was the most one-sided I've ever seen but most of the chances fell to Duffy who lacked composure
The front two don't really offer enough to the midfield for me that's why the wing backs or midfielders always have to turn back and play around a packed defence
I thought Lavery should have been on a lot earlier...Sharp and Hanson did ok and got us the equaliser, but we needed someone with more threat to get behind or turn their defenders and ask a few more questions.I agree with a lot of that. That's why I like Lavery on the pitch. He's got a bit of pace and the ability to make things happen. He's the only striker we can say that about. It takes some pressure off the midfield having someone like him. For me he should start ahead of Hanson most weeks.
But on the other hand ,we Lost a lot of possession and looked far more likely to conceed when Hanson went off as they were just picking up the ball easily off our forwards and trying to turn our defence with 90 yard hoofs ,which almost workedI agree with a lot of that. He was visibly knackered by the time he was replaced. Useful though he had been, I think we'd have carried him had he stayed on.I bet their defenders were rubbing their hands together when Hanson went off, that was a bad substitution imo.
The OP is a very constructive criticism but will get ripped to pieces by the same crowd as always. Looking at the stats it's 2 points dropped, no one is saying that we have to win every game at home, just that in games where we play better and have a numerical advantage for large parts we should be coming away with all 3 points. To suggest just because we're top and Bolton only drew that we didn't drop points is nonsense.
so should scunthorpe in their eyes and bolton
but
no team has ever ever won every game
unless you know of someone who has
seen lots of teams batter other teams draw and lose games
its how football is
10 man millwall beat prem champs leicester today in the cup
mind you leicester couldnt score in a brothel just now

Who was the linesman with the Yellow flag - shockingly poor, the 'not offside' near the end was amazing terrible, the forward must have been 3 yards offside and they hit the post!
Looking at the stats it isn't 2 points dropped because our closest rivals didn't gain 2 points on us. Sometimes, statistically you play shit and win, sometimes quite the opposite, and sometimes you even end up drawing
Fucking hell, I've never seen such an over reaction to a home draw. Nothing's guaranteed, it's a game, win some lose some, the manager is fucking ace and if he saw weaknesses I trust him to try and put things right.
Some of you sound as though it's fucking blob week, get a fucking grip, we've got another big game coming up and it would be terrible if you all wet yourselves should Bolton score first![]()
