To be fair I didn't sit on it , just saw it from above whilst on a helicopter tour around Pearl Harbor..... it looked double r8 from up there . The most memorable bit was the pilot telling us the details of the stricken US ships which lay unaltered to this day and are official War Graves for 3,000 souls, then pointing immediately to the verdant hills to his right and saying ' and that's where they filmed George of the Jungle'.

That was actually the most impressive part of our visit to Hawaii, Pearl Harbour. And yes, those US ships under the water, very eerie.

It's on my itinerary for the next few years and a few people have told me it's a bit of a disappointment. As a well-travelled fella, would you recommend it or stick to the Caribbean?

I think you know my thoughts on this BUT. I suspect we went to the wrong Island. Unusually for us, we didn't do much research. Waikiki seemed to be the place to go. If you want lots of designer shops, a concrete jungle and very narrow beach, go there. Otherwise, have a look at the other Islands.

I don't have a favourite Bristol side myself. Can't say the thought has ever crossed my mind. Obviously I'm a bit odd.

Whilst you're at it, tell us your favourite Glasgow side, and Edinburgh side, and Manchester side and London side and seaside?

Rangers if pushed, not bothered about Edinburgh but raul will insist I say Hibs, no Manchester favourite but the City fans used to have a decent sense of humour.
Best seaside? For a proper English seaside resort it's got to be Scarborough. For just being by the sea it's Ardalanish Beach on the Isle of Mull, a perfect little piece of heaven.

Oahu has some nice spots, you just have to get away from Honolulu. We flew over to the 'big island' (Hawaii Island), stayed overnight there. That was nice.

Went into that micropub The Drapers on my own and got a right welcome from some dedicated Bristol Rovers fans. A blind bloke who had travelled down from Leeds, a local who'd missed one game this year and then the arrival of a season ticket holder from Glasgow! I then went into that Queen Vic pub opposite and that was an entirely different kettle of Natch. I didn't get any hassle but we all get a vibe at times and this was one to leave quickly. Mutant central where they all knew each other and once they'd realised that no one knew me then I didn't want to hang around. Overall, a dedicated bunch of fans who've been through the mill. Ring any bells?

I honestly can't think of any other fans who have been so nice about us, that doesn't usually happen! Definitely have a soft spot for them now.

I'm proud to be from Bristol to be fair, we really are a good bunch, and both suffer from having loud neighbours who like to rub their league position in our faces to much.

Stokes Croft and Gloucester Road home to the arts,independent shops ,music,Tesco riots, counter culture and bohemian vibe.
Very friendly folk, down to earth , just like Sheffielders

Let's be clear, amidst the welcome comity. Sheffield is a far, far bigger football city than Bristol. United are a substantially bigger club than either City or Rovers [indeed, both put together]. Comparisons based on Pigs/City and United/Rovers are wholly misguided.

That is not to say that I don't appreciate the Rovers fans or their club [it was a great gesture to clap us off the pitch; that never happens to hoofanhope teams, by the way]. I do, but let's keep it real.

One of the few US ships that were undamaged at Pearl Harbor was USS Phoenix. In 1951, she was sold to the Argentine navy and named 17 de Octubre. Later, she was re-named General Belgrano. Until 1982...

I walked down Gloucester Road with my scarf on after the game and I have to say the Rovers fans were great. I chatted with a few on the walk and they were very amiable and all wished us luck in getting promoted. I hope they sneak up - I left Bristol with a warm glow.
