That moment back in early October when I suddenly realised that all you ever post is a load of s**t ;)
As for the season's events, Billy smashing in that pen at Gillingham and Tufty walking towards the Blades fans showing his passion for the club.
I thought then, we could be onto a winner here.

I can only post to a level of intelligence and wit that the reader will understand.
Beyond that, it's simply wasted.

;)

If you're having a successful season it's always hard to pick one out.

But probably Gillingham away. That's when the switch to the successful 3-5-2 happened and I knew we'd have a decent season after that game. It was also a massive relief after the start we had.

Hmmmm.... I'm struggling between.

Paul Coutts being given a chance with the game already lost against Southend.

Freeman coming in for the next game after Brayford's move and cementing his place.

Jake Wright being called upon for the Oxford game (the first of a very long unbeaten run).

Pask's outrageous handball allowing Billy to net the winner v Gills.

Basham's red card at Scunny paving the way for John Fleck to regain his place in the team.

Going 3-5-2 for me as well. I knew we at last had a manager that understood we wanted fast flowing attacking football.

There is no question Wilder has united the club but particularly facilitated the bond between fans and players.

For me, definitely the first win. For the players and Wilder though, I bet it was post-Millwall at some point before the next game. I went home fuming after that but I can't imagine the conversations they had.

Forget unlucky, forget robbed by a late penalty, we were dreadful that game and our pre-season favourites tag looked laughable. Wilder must have been feeling even more pressure than the players.

God knows what he said and did in the next week (keep calm the wins will come, or an absolute rollocking or somewhere in between) but he earned much of his year's salary in those 7 days for me!

What has been your 'defining moment' of the 16/17 Sheffield United season, so far?

Could be anything. Transfer in, off the field appointment, player performance, team result, refereeing decision....

Thank You Tyler Durden for this thread request!

2nd half against Chesterfield where we saw that we had a manager who actually had a plan b and we had a team that could deliver.

Too many good moments, compared to last season, but Freemans header at Chesterfield, where he ran straight to the crowd (as he always does), Sharps form, the midfield holy trinity, Jake Wright, Simon Moore, and hopefully good stuff from James Hanson and Jay O'Shea. Good results from Under 23's.

Above all of that, CW and AK who have come in and (after a poor first few games) instilled a solidarity, gang mentality (look at the celebrations after each goal) and a belief that we are a winning team that fears no one.

Hard to pick one, so I won't try. Therefore here are a few.

The change of formation

Wallopping PV 4-0, yes they were poor but last season we would have drawn 0-0 or lost. Also the first time I thought to myself, that we are going up!

EEL's late equaliser v Fleetwood, cue scenes.

EEL's late winner v Bury, cue scenes and a sense that this team wouldn't give up. That goal must have also pissed on some chips in the general directions of Bolton and Scunny.

Second half performance v Chezzy. 4 excellent goals on show.

...the Port Vale (who doing pretty well at the time and we were turning the corner) game was a defining moment for me.

4 goals, 3 or so disallowed and some of the best football seen at the Lane for years....

4-0 against Port Vale.

We'd won a string of games before that but this was the first game we put a team to the sword and really flexed our muscles. The result that made me think we'd have a real go this season.

Chesterfield after surviving a torrid opening and then turning on the style.

Mine and Bombers legacy lives on :D

Tell Aussie that I never "hated his guts" at all. I found him to be very articulate and respectable, and that the main reason I say this is that it will piss him off no end :)

And please thank Block D for his kind words. He was one of the best contributors on there as far as I'm concerned.

Actually, no need.

Guess who's back :)
