Does anyone know when in the past few years the teams in the automatic spots have been cemented? Or even the playoffs?

We've got a very tough run of games coming up. A couple of defeats and we'll be 3-5 points ahead of Bolton and they'll have 2 games in hand.

long way to go yet

You're right. I'm deleting this thread. Let's not get silly

Yes, it could be when we drop from 2nd to 3rd

When it is impossible for the third placed team to go above us. That is when we will know . I'm trying not to get carried away with all this what if, when, how, where.......ITS REALLY HARD THO...............

I reckon 86 points will be plenty this season.
Conservatively looking through the run of games we have from now on, I reckon we'll beat Bradford at home to be assured of promotion

Initially this post pissed me off as I lumped it in with all the 'who will we play next season / price at the Sty' threads, but then I thought if we had some of yer actual facts, it might calm a few people down.

Bristol City - promoted 14/4/15 (champions 18/4/15)
Wolves - promoted 12/4/14 (champions 21/4/14 with a record points total of 103)
Charlton - promoed 14/4/12 (champions 21/4/12)
Donny promoted & champions 27/4/13 (last day of season)

So looks like mid April at best then.

I'll repeat that for the hard of reading:

"The earliest we could be promoted is probably Port Vale 15/4/17 so please stop all this premature bollocks."

I am sure the friendly home fans would join us in our celebrations,if that was the case

I fancy it being the Bradford game at home and Hanson scoring the winner

I m not bothered whether its as champions or second really , the trophy is a bonus
but I will enjoy it endlessly as we play promotion football in each and every game left

It doesnt matter WHEN as long as we DO !! I will take the last match of the season if necessary - would love it to be earlier so we can relax and celebrate with a full house against Chessie but this is United , we dont do easy do we ?

i knew it was a bad idea

Watch in horror as we limp towards the line and face a resurgent Chesterfield with a chance of survival on the final day.

Yeah and then Ched Therapist scores a Harry Catterick and we all cry like the pigs did in 1990.

I think we play Port Vale the day before on April 14th. Now that would make it a Very Good Friday.

Last time we were promoted we played an away game on Friday April 14th 2006. Now that was a Very, Very Good Friday.
