Just started reading it. He pulls no punches. But I've had to quote the first paragraph of page 101 to my sons.
What a guy even says he would have paid us to play for us.
Great read he doesn't hold back with the language either. I liked him before but like him even more now.

I think it's just the SUFC hierarchy. They shat on Dane Whitehouse too after he retired by all accounts. Which is unforgivable in my book.

Last I heard he was doing his UEFA B in 1999. Not sure what's happened since but Curtis Woodhouse alluded to it, and I've heard other things through the grapevine about how SUFC have basically chewed him up and spat him out.

Often see Dane sitting not too far from me at home games. What has the club done to upset Dane in the recent years?

Apparently Dane is doing ok he invested his money wisely and makes a few quid from owning and renting houses. He should have had a testimonial though as a one club guy.

He had a testimonial in May 2001. I was there and Lmaobob 's second game and many fans were on the pitch after the game

Ok I didn't see it if he has removed it maybe someone from the club got in touch? I hope so he deserves that at least. He did give the club a hard time as a youngster though, he mentions his antics in the book again nothing missed. He tried to run down four Irish lads with the youth team minibus and ended up on the pitch at one point which didn't go down well with the directors watching out of the window. Maybe that's the reason they didn't want him on the staff?

I have never really laughed out loud reading a book.

But the part where he recalls the Trinidad tour where Curtis, Lee Sandford & Wayne Quinn snuck out to sneak some weed, ending up with Sandford smacking Blackwell, was a genuine ell ohh ell moment.

Not to mention swearing blind to Steve Bruce he hadn't been supping & scrapping in the "treadmill" the night before...

Does Curtis woodhouse mention in the book that he raised his hand to a young lady (his girlfriend), and on the friday he was chased by 4 lads and a got a kicking outside republic nightclub ? Doubt it, he was a proper arrogant wanker when he was younger.

I found his issues with anxiety interesting as it's something I have a problem with myself. It certainly helps explain why he is (was) always like a coiled spring, like a bomb ready to go off.

One or two genuinely funny stories as well, and all in all, an open, refreshingly honest look at life as a young footballer with not much direction in life and far too much money on his hands.
