Pink Sambuca drinking World Champion.
For the coming season.....
Hopes
We keep our best players, despite Premier League interest. I know Beattie is completely rubbish, bone idle and contributes nothing to the team (TM beightonblade) but we should be trying to get another 15-20 goal a season striker, not flogging the one we've got.
I also hope we can get rid of the players who are past their best, either completely, like Lucketti, Gillespie and Horsefield, and those who never even looked like getting there. Seck springs to mind immediately.
I also hope we can improve the squad we've got.
The other big hope is that we stuff the Pigs properly, home and at their tumbledown shed.
Fears
I fear for our promotion prospects if we do sell Beattie. He is the only player that we really can't do without. All the others could be replaced, but getting a 20+ goal a season striker isn't easy.
And what about the boo-boys and miserablists? Will they give Blackwell the same grief they gave Robson if we don't get off to a flying start?
The thought of decent players being sold on the cheap still lingers, but I don't think either Blackwell or McCabe would allow this to happen. If a club comes in offering silly money for, say, SQuinny or Tonge then I think we should take their hands off though.
