So start thinking guys and keep them coming. We're on the up it would be great to come up with a chant/song that goes on and follows us on the up and gets us all going. Just imagine that 25k plus crowd going for it and ALL the Kop (and the rest going for it) letting themselves go with no inhibitions and worries about what others thought and being true and proud. COYRAWW.....

Another thread about suggested chants and songs. All very well, however I've never heard any of these waft around the stands. Don't get me wrong, apart from joining in with the GCB song, I generally sit quietly in the South Stand watching the intricacies of the game, but does anyone on here actually get involved in getting the crowd singing?

All I hear apart from GCB is the odd "United" repeated and the gold old and dreadful "Shoreham boys we are here".

I'm sure some of you will protest, but I suspect not.

Like it or not I firmly believe there won't be a return to the days of the Lane having a bob on atmosphere unril there is a return to a bob on team thet actually ACHIEVES something meaningful like getting promoted.
People aren't stupid and have suffered too many false dawns and kicks in the bollocks.
It's like your partner plays away on a fegular basis and every time she shows signs of being faithful and you trust her she breaks your heart again.
Like it or not even blind loyalty has its limits.

I've suggested a few new songs of late. They always get greeted with the same response on this forum. It kind of explains why away fans at the lane chant "is this a library".

Why not nick one from a club we've actually got links with? Not necessary this but the boys in Inchicore have plenty of decent tunes.

Actually quite like that !

Ye Banks & Braes...

Ebanks-Landell and Matty Done.
Freeman and Coutts and Fleck and Duff-y.
O'Connell, Lavery and Simon Moore.
Samir Carruthers and Jay O'Shea

Im crap at remembering words to football chants or mis-hear whats being sung usually haha!

This 60s band I really got into last year have a song or two that lend themselves to a terrace chant..

Like this one...

Trishalana..sang as Trisha Lane absolutely lends itself to being sung as Bramall Lane.

The only thing is, its quite a Beach Boys'y type sound and vocal so whether twenty thousand Yorkshire voices could manage it is another thing haha! :)

It sounds good in the head mind! :)

"...The only thing is, its quite a Beach Boys'y type sound and vocal so whether twenty thousand Yorkshire voices could manage it is another thing..."

I am sure we could pull this off, have South Stand doing lead vocals, first harmony from the Kop, counter harmony and "oohs" and "aahs" from John Street and Bramall Lane Lower Tier joining in with the chorus, and then hand clap to the verse.

Should be easy enough to organise that.

All I wanna do, is shoe some pigs,
I might spill my beer, I couldn't give a frig,
All I wanna do, is shoe some pigs,
Until the lights go off at Meadowhall Retail Park.

I won't give up the day job...

..Which unfortunately is writing catchy jingles.

Ahh see, there is someone who thinks it will work and sees where im coming from :)

It would have quite an amazing layered effect I reckon with the sections pitching it at the right points.

The lyrics are quite dreamy too..

In the build up.. 'Hopes and dreams, la la la Bramall Laaaane'

It all fits I reckon.

Boo was saying that most songs and chants are generic or pinched from other teams fans...well this one would be unique!
