My issue with Done at Left Wing back is that when we have the ball he's too deep. It seriously winds me up big time. Push up onto the full back and when the ball is on the opposite flank, get in the fecking box.
I can't tell you how angry this makes me!!!!!

I said this in the Lafferty thread that I started. Done wasn't attacking properly as he looked nervous about having to do his defensive duties.
Playing LM in a 4-4-2 is one thing, but tracking back in that formation is to help out the LB just by 'being there'. In a 3-5-2 you have to be adequate at both attack and defence, Done can't do the either unfortunately.
Where's Hussey?
You are one of my "forum favs" i'll say this out loud, its thi bleedin fault we dont score enough.Matt Done isn't the reason we've shipped 32 goals this season. The answer to that lies in one or two forum favourites who are therefore immune from criticism.
I think Wilder might have thought that he could 'get away' with playing Done again today because of the lowly opposition and he wanted to give Lafferty a few more days.
He probably planned to let Riley have a good look at how we played, and then bring him on for the last half hour if the game was going to plan. Personally I'd have hooked Done after their first goal and brought Riley on anyway. He can't possibly be any worse than Done defensively, and he's supposed to be a real attacking threat out wide.
Yes I think so mate. I'd heard from a couple of ManU fans and also read from a few different sources that Riley's main strength lies in the attacking side of his game. There was even a debate as to if he should be an out and out winger and wondered if that's how Wilder might use him.Hope the inference of your post is right Gray. Riley is supposed to be one of the next MU protege's who will be given his chance at first team level. Surely he's not been brought here as an option that might get a chance of playing? Clearly, many MU supporters regard Riley as a good player, so I hope Wilder does as you suggest and gets him on sooner rather than later. There's no place for sentiment where decision making is concerned, especially at this point in the season. If the young man is good enough to be considered as one for the future at MU, he's clearly good enough for us now.

Of course if he's as good as some say, he'll probably be way better than Done defensively as well, but I was just making the point that he could have given us some pace and width going forward wide left.
