He got a 3 + year contract. I see the same in Clarke when he signed one. Easy Street. Just my view.....

Wright has more games ponder his belt than Landell and O'connell combined.
It doesnt matter what level he's come from hes got little experience and he's surrounded by other players with very little too- including his keeper.

His positional sense (his main assett) has gone way off-kilter and he isn't quick enough to compensate.

That and the fact that he has to play next to Jack O'Connell......

Young player having a rough run of form. I agree that we need Wright in there as a steadying influence.

He has been quality and has it in him. I'm sure he'll get back to those levels.

the balance of the teams a bit off at the back , but CW is working on it
9 times out of 10 wed have won that game playing as we did

watched man city draw against spurs in similar fashion last night
spurs werent great and somehow got a draw they sparsely deserved

Dare i say he was playing for his future up to Christmas.... The lad is secure for three and a half years now..... I hope i am wrong but that zip and passion has gone from his game since he signed that new contract.

I think most posters on here will understand what i am saying.

I don't think Wolves giving him a new contract has done anyone any favours.

I am just as concerned about Moore tbh. He has looked a bit ropey in recent games. Hopefully just a blip and Wright back in team will steady his nerves as well.

He's looked dodgy in the middle of the 3 from the first time he played there. He's better on the right, and he's better with Wright. But I'd keep Basham RCB ahead of him for the time being.

EEL and O'Connell are still fairly young and need a older head in there with them (a player who is a natural defender). Lafferty and Wright offer that experience. Lafferty has been out, Wright not picked - so EEL and O'Connell have lacked the the influence of an experienced natural defender.

Yes Bash has been there, but he isnt a natural defender.

I think that the central defender role does not suit him as well as his earlier role as right sided (of the 3) when Wright was in the team. Perhaps bringing Wright in to the centre where his better reading of the game and his guiding of the other 2 defenders would pay dividends. Wilder would then have the choice of Basham or EEL for right back . Basham was exposed at Walsall but played well yesterday. Perhaps even Riley at right back might be worth considering.

I think our strongest back 3 has to include Wright in the centre.

EEL looks so much better on the right side with Wright in the centre.

However that right side of the 3 is well and truly Bashams at the moment. He has been immense for quite a while now.

He did well today but the defence still looks less composed and comfortable without Wright in it. We have to resort to more last ditch stuff.

But I suppose it's going to be EEL in the middle of the back 3 for a few games now isn't it? Fingers crossed!

It might be the best option next week at Oldham though, in what I anticipate will be a scrap.

After the trash we've had at centre back recently makes a v nice change to have genuine competition.

Whoever drops out of the back three can feel hard done by and that's got to be a good thing.

Agree that wright playing makes everything look more composed, but I think having bash and O'Connell to bring the ball out helps us. Hopefully as they play together more Wrights experience will be come less invaluable and he'll be able to pass it down.

EEL did some good work but hasn't been as commanding as he was especially in the air.

I had to laugh when a guy called Shaun rand Radio Sheffield on the way home praising EEL and Coutts as outstanding when we thought they were both not quite on their game.

He's a regular Blade home and away so it just goes to show it's al ABBAHT opinions, but hey who gives a toss, we won. UTB!
