Where was this pub and why does it ' enjoy ' an infamous place in Sheffield folklore ?

Being brutally honest , i havent a clue where it is ! Thats partly the reason i asked . But what i do know is that 5 people were shot in there on New Years Day 1960 . 3 subsequently died and one was left paralysed .

And yes , it is a Sheffield Pub

That's the one. I knew one of the Landlords in the eighties.

When I lived up pitsmoor it was the safest place you could ever wish for,we use to be in pinkys,donkey man's and braces 3 to 4 times a weeks,brilliant days.

Opposite the best curry house in Sheffield before it closed, being the Kashmir Curry Centre when run by Paul. (IMHO)

Threepenny kiosk

My cousin robbed a jewellers as a teenager and put all the watches up his arms. Went to get the 56 bus home and got caught breaking into one of the chocolate machines on the side of that kiosk.

Another was caught drink driving and sent the fine to his insurance company for them to pay......
