Four out of top five lost
Bails us out

It's just an away loss at the end of the day, they'll happen. If it was 2-1 then there'd be little panic. Two more goals go in and it looks horrendous.

The way we play we're not drawing much, I'd take us going for the win every game and getting tonked 1/10 of the time instead of trying to gring out draws away from home.

If we'd have drawn today and away at Southend we'd be worse off points wise, but I bet there'd be no hysteria.

Surprisingly I don't feel too down tonight.

I think some players might have started to believe in their own publicly after recent performances, and today's result will give them a reality check and the kick up the backside that was probably always going to be needed. I think we sometimes forget that these are 3rd tier players and their mental discipline could be one of the reasons that they're playing at this level.

A good solid win next week should hopefully help us kick on again, and if we go into February still on our game, there's no reason at all why we can't do the business and be well in control by the end of it. I don't think there's too much to fear providing Wilder can get their heads right and we keep clear of injuries to key players. UTB!

We need to win all 3 with what we face after them .

11 Feb Peterborough A
14 Feb Brizzle A
18 Feb Scunthorpe H
25 Feb Bolton H
4 Mar Rochdale A
11 Mar Millwall H
14 Mar Swindon A
18 Mar Charlton H

That run will sort the men from the boys .

Yeah, three home games. Then things get serious, Peterboro, Bolton, Scunny at el.

No point downplaying what was a horror show, defensively. That was fucking rank. Totally forgiveable, given how good we've been, but utter shit all the same.

We've brought pressure on us, when there was no need of it.

Anyway, onwards. With Jake Wright hopefully. If nothing else, today's shown there are no "indispensables" - EEL, Basham, whoever.

21 JAN Gillingham
24 JAN Fleetwood
4 FEB Wimbledon

Great chance to start another winning run.

Win these 3 then today's result will be pretty inconsequential.

Today's result brings everyone back to earth . Bit unreal today and brings home that we cannot take anything for granted . What it will do is speed up in comings and outgoings .

Sounds a bit stupid , but this result may have done us all a world of good with a wake up call .

Do promotion favourites get beat 4-1 .

New blood will definatley be coming in next week to ensure this does not happen again , after we have all had a kick up the arse .

UTB

Carruthers to come back into contention , potentially another two good additions in by then aswell and a bollocking that will have taken the paint off the walls today ....... A tough run but we'll be up for it !

Yeah, we're not badly placed!

Just fucking frustrating that we get a bit of daylight & then just crumble. But folly to think we'd do things easy.

On to next week...

Worst performance since Southend and if that's the ration, then it's the last of the season.

We need to get after Gillingham from minute 1 next week.

I thought a couple of weeks back that both Southend and Walsall would be very difficult games, and tipped us to get a point from both, so to get 3 from both games is a bit more than i expected.

I fully expect us to come back stronger with a win next saturday, and win the following couple of games as well, and by the looks of it that will create a huge gap over us and third place which will be useful with the tough run of games coming up.

I don't feel too down at all tonight and I haven't even started drinking yet. Maybe when I do the tears will set in? :(

Fancy us to come back strong against Gills next week but Fleetwood will be well up for it. At least with both of these games though I would expect both teams to have a go, which should help us at home. The Wombles will probably use the more established method of parking the bus.

7 points wouldn't be at all bad but as others have said, with what's coming it would be highly preferable to get 9. A couple of clean sheets wouldn't be bad either.

Genuinely believe we will go and win all three, it's what wilder does. Today is a blip.

Me too, but between 16:45 & 18:30 I felt shit. The power of Strongbow is a great healer.
Strongbow? Ooooh! The Carling of ciders. :p
I once went in a pub in Bowness and noticed a cider on draught I'd never seen before. "What's that like?" I asked the barman. He said "It's like Strongbow but it's got apples in it and it's not shit" :D

Wish we would go out and get an Antonio type loan signing from now until May. That's the risk that promotion candidates take.....

It's very important to beat Gillingham.

Fleetwood the following Tuesday will probably be harder, and winning the first of the 3 takes the pressure off the others and means that at least 6 points is likely, and as long as we win 2 of them we'll be OK.

Also worth pointing out Bolton's next 3 games:

21 JAN Southend (A)
28 JAN Charlton (H)
4 FEB MK Dons (A)

We could build a real gap here.

No excuses for not getting maximum points from those 3 games.

Have to be a bleeding huge gap given our track record

We are due some draws, got a horrible feeling these next 2 will be them.
